The Whole device is then rotated to screw the bolt into position.
The advantages of my invention result from the provision of a stay bolt having a body which is of greater Width than thick ness', and in which one portion of the body is at an angle to another portion thereof to permit the bolt to yield tocOmpensate for the shifting of one plate with relation to the other. i
I claim:
1. A stay-bolt having a body portion of greater Width than thickness, the parallel faces of the body portion at one point being parallel to the similar faces of the body portion at another point of the body and innil i eal termediate portions of the parallel faces being at an angle thereto, and securing means on the ends of said bolt, substantially as described. I
2. A stay-bolt having a body portion of greater Width than thickness, a securing head on each end of the body portion, said body portion being twisted at least 180 degrees about the longitudinal axis of the bolt, substantially as described.
3. A stay-bolt having threaded end portions and an intermediate portion of greater width than thickness, said. portion being twisted" helically through at least 180 degrees and the twist extending from the termination of the thread of one head to the beginning of the thread of the other head, sul'istantially as described.
