This invention relates to improvements in grading' and leveling machines and one of the objects of the same to provide an improved machine of this character, which may he readily converted from one form or shape into another according to the work to bc performed.

Connected with the section 17 of the intermediate beam is an arched shaped memiber preferably comprising the sections 31, 32 pivotallysecured to the beam section by means of connecting members 33, 34, and 35, although thisarched shaped member may if desired bev constructed of a singlev piece. -Braces 36 are connected with the beam section 17 and also with the sides of the arched 38 'are provided and the beam sections 19, 21 are adapted to enter the sockets 41, 40 of the scraper 37 while the upright constituted by the side or roem:

Vhile there is shown and described, only three modes of use of this machine, it is to be understood that the parts may beadjusted and positioned with respect to-each other to .adapt the machine for any' work to be per-formed, and while the preferred forms have been herein Shown it' is to be understood that many changes may be made in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts without departing from the spirit of this invention.

1. A device of the character described, embodying an intermediate beam, a pair of beams arranged on each side thereof, a scraper connected with each pair of beams, and means for detachably connectingl the Scrapers with the central beam, and embodying means for detachably connecting one end ofl each of the Scrapers for holding the Scrapers in one position with respect to each other, .the said side beams being longitudinally adjustable whereby the Scrapers may be placed in tandem when the end of one of the blades is detached from the central beam.
2. A device of thecharacter described, embodying an intermediate beam, a pair of beams arranged on each side thereof, a scraper connected with each pair of beams, means for detachably connecting the Scrapers withthe central beam, and embodying means for detachably connectingone end of each Y of the Scrapers for holding the Scrapers in one position with respect to each other, Said beams being of sectional construction longitudinally adjustable whereby the Scrapers be placed in tandem when the end of one of the blades is detached from the central beam, said sectional construction of the beams also permitting the angular position of the Scrapers to be varied.

A. device of the character described, embodying an intermediate beam, a pair of beams arranged on each side thereof, a scraper connected with each pair of' beams, and means detachably .connecting the Scrapers with the central beam and embodying means for detachably connecting one end of the Scrapers with the said intermediate beam, one of said pairs of beams being arranged at a heh'er elevation than the other pair of beams, said pairs of side beams being longitudinally adjustable, one pair of said beams adapted to be swung beneath the other pair when the respective scraper'is detached from the said intermediate beam, to position the Scrapers one in advance of the other.

bodying an intermediate beam, a pair ofbeams arranged on each side thereof, a scraper connected with each pair of beams, and means detachably connecting one endof each of the Scrapers with the said intermediate beam, one of saidpairs of beams being arranged at a higher elevation than the other pair of eams, whereby the latter may be swung beneath the former when the respective Scraper is detached from the said intermediate beam, andthe lengtl'i of the respective beam is varied, to position the Scrapers one in advance of the other, said beams being constructed in sections adjustable with respect to each other to vary the length of the beams.

A device of the character described, embodying an intermediate beam, a pair of beams disposed on each side thereof, Scrapers connected with each of the said pairs of beams, means detachably securing the inner ends of the Scrapers to the said intermediate beam, one of said pairs of beams being so4 positioned with respect to the other vpair of beams andthe said intermediate beam, as
