A telephone exchange system includling telephone lines extending from substations to an exchange; extensions for such telephone' lines adapted for connection therewith in successive order; successivelyoperating electro-magnetic switching devices respectively coperatively related with the successively related extensions in their order andin the order of operation of said electro- -magnetic switching devices and operating in succession for connecting such extensions in -successive order with calling telephone lines; successively operating calling line extending switching devices at each of the sub- 'stations of -said telephone lines that are respectively adapted for operative association in the order of their succession with thesuccessively operating electro-magnetic switching devices in the-order of succession of the latter; and means whereby a calling line extending switching device which succeeds the rst at a calling station is brought into cooperative relation with its line when said rst switching device has performed its function.

26. A telephone exchange Vsystem including telephone lines extending from subscribers stations to an exchange; extensions for such telephone lines; link connectors for uniting calling lines with said extensions;
electro-magnetic connector switches including traveling wipers for uniting desired extensions with said link connectors; and means pertaining to the telephone line extensions and governed thereby when previously taken for use for continuing the wiper of said connector switches in operation to prevent them from connecting desired link connectorsv therewith, and for thereafter stopping the wiper of said connector switches to connect said linlr connectors with previously busyextensions when released from their previous use.

A telephone exchange system including telephone line extensions; electro-inagnet'ic connector switches including traveling wipers `for including desired extensions in telephonie circuits; and means pertaining to the telephone line extensions and governed thereby when previously taken for use for continuing the wiper of said connector switches in operation to prevent them from connectingdesired extensions in telephone circuits; and for thereafter stopping the wiper of said connector switches to include desired extensions in telephonie circuits when such extensions are released from' their previous use. y A
