T0 all 'whom t mayooncem Be it known that we, JOHN A. @BERG and JOHN R. FORMAN, citizens of the United States, residingrespectively, at Bremerton and Puyallup, vin the counties of Kitsap and Fierce, State of Washington, have invented a new and useful Revolving Dining-Room Table, of which the following is a specication.
This invention relates to tables, one of its objects being to provide means whereby a round table can be readily enlarged or extended to a greater diameter, means being provided whereby a series of segmental leaves may be positioned upon the table for increasing the diameter thereof.
A further object is to provide leaf supporting means which, when not in use, are housed snugly under the table where they will not be in the way of persons using the table.
Another object is to provide a table of this character which is simple and compact in construction and which, when using the extensions, can have its middle portion rotated relative to the extension portion, thus to permit the occupants of the table to bring within reach any articles which -may be mounted on the revoluble part of the table.
wW ith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement or" parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within t-he scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Fig. S is a perspective view of one end portion of an inverted leaf. Fig. 9 is a detail View of a latch designed to be used for holding the main table against rotation relative to the extensions.
Referring to the figures by characters of reference 1 designates a socket member suitably secured upon a pedestal 2, this member having a series of arms 3 radiating therefrom, these arms supporting an integral race a in which is supported a series of anti-friction balls 5. A circular main table top 6 is supported above the socket member 1 and the arms 3 and has a wear plate 7 secured to the lower face thereof at its center, this wear plate bearing downwardly on the balls 5 and having a stud 8 which is mounted for rotation in the socket member 1. This stud may be formed with an annular groove 9 and a retaining screw 10 may be extended through the socket member and into the groove, as shown. Thus it will be seen that the main table top can be rotated readily whenever desired. The table top 6 has an annular depending apron 11 such as commonly employed and the radial arms 3 are arranged back of this apron so as to be practically concealed thereby. Each of the arms 3 is provided, at its outer or free end, with a depending lip 11 provided, in its inner face, with a rabbet 1Q. Furthermore, each arm 3 has a depending web 13 the lower edge of which is parallel with the top of the arm 3 from the outer end of said arm to a point adjacent the center thereof where the said lower edge is curved downwardly toward the base of the socket member 1. Formed along the lower edge of each arm 3 are longitudinally extending Hanges let projecting from opposite sides of the web and forming supporting rails. These ianges are spaced at their outer ends from the lips 11", as shown at 15 and formed in the web 13 directly above the spaces 15 is an aperture 16 for the purpose hereinafter set forth.
Slidably mounted on the flanges 111 of each arm 3 is a yoke 17 formed on or secured to the rear end portion of the tubular base 13 of a bracket 19. As shown in the drawings, this yoke is extended upwardly and thence rearwardly from the base lSVand the terminals of the yoke 17ers inturned, as at 20, thus to bear downwardly on the A[langes 1&1 andto tit close to the sides ot' the web 18. A stein 21 is vmounted 'for rotation in the tubular base 18 and secured to the inner end of this stern is alfatch inenr ber or hook 22 designed to more with the stein and to swing back and 'forth within an Y opening 23 formed in the base 18 adjacent the yoke 17. This latch or hook 22 is so positioned that, when the bracket 19 is drawn forwardly under the apron 11, a vtlange'24c carried by the base 1S will become seated within the rabbet 12 after which, by turning the stem 21,*the latch or hook 22 can be caused to enter the opening 16, thus coperating with the inturned ends of the yoke 17 to hold the bracket 19 against upward or downward movement relative to the arm 3 to which he bracket is connected. is shown in the drawings, stern 21 is provided with a slot 25'in which a locking lever 26 is mounted, this lei/er being provided at its outer end with a head 27 normally projecting above the stein 21 while adjacent its inner end, the said lever has a lug 2S adapted to be seated within a groove 29 in the bottoni portion of the base 18. Thus it will be seen that as long as the lug 28 is seated in said groove 29, steni 21 is held against rotation and, consequently, the latch or hook 22 *will be held within the opening 16. However, by inserting a suitable key thereo'ver so that it will ride onto Vthe outer end ot the stein 21, the head 2T will be depressed. rthis will cause the lug 28 to lift out 'of the notch or grooye 29 whereupon stern 21 can be rotated and the latch or hook 22 moved out ot thel opening 1G. Vihen the hook is thus removed from opening 16, the bracket 19 can be caused to swing downwardly relative to the arin 3 and with the inturned ends 20 as pivots. rllhe said bracket can thus be moved inwardly along they supporting flanges 111 until the inturned ends 2O come close to the socket mein ber 1. rlhus ythe entire bracket 19 will be brought to position under the top 6 and back of thel apron 11.
Secured upon each bracket 19 is a segyn'iental supporting leaf 30 designed, when bracket 19 is supported beyond the apron 11, to fit close to the periphery ot the main table top G and to lie lwith its upper tace i'iushwith the corresponding tace ot the top 6. The combinationwwith aA support and a 'table top, of liXed supporting and guiding arms radiating from the supportand having downwardly and inwardly inclined guide portions, a bracket slidably engaging each of said arms and its guide portions, a segmental supporting leaf carried by each bracket, means upon each bracket and adapted to coperate with the adjacent supporting means for holding the bracket with its leaf flush with the top of the table when extended, and yielding means upon each arm for engagement by the bracket supported leaf to hold said leaf under and close to its guiding means.
8. The combination with a supporting member and guide arms radiating therefrom, each arm including a depending web and downwardly and inwardly curved flanges, of a table top supported by said member, a bracket having a base, a yoke extending from the bracket and slidably engaging the arm, said yoke having inturned terminals movable above the iianges of the arm, a latch member carried by the base and movable into engagement with the web of the arm thereby to hold the bracket iXed relative to the arm, a segmental supporting leaf carried by the bracket and adapted to be held thereby flush with the top of the table, and means upon said arm for engaging the leaf to support the bracket and leaf in position under and close to the arm.
4. The combination with a supporting member, arms radiating therefrom, each of said arms including a web and inwardly and downwardly extended flanges, and a table top supported above the supporting member and arms of a bracket for each arm, each bracket including a base, a yoke extending from the base and having inturned terminals movable above the flanges and at opposite sides of the web of the arm, a latch carried by the base and movable into engagement with the arm thereby to hold the bracket against movement relative to the arm, means for locking said latch member in engaging position, and a segmental supporting leaf carried by each bracket and adapted to be supported thereby flush with the table top.
