ERIK ARTUR FAGERLUND AND ARVIJD ADOLF a r SWEDEN, ASSIGNORS OF ONE-HALF TO GUSTfiF SV L:
i I 0E SEO on, or scooter,
cnnamne-macnmn roe. ms at To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ERIK ARTUR FAGER- LUND and Anvil) AnoLF Hnmnnnrllonansou, both subjects of the King of Sweden, and citizens of Sweden, residing, respectively, at Malmtorgsgatan 3 and Svedenborgsgatan 2, Stockholm, in the Kingdom of Sweden, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cleaning-Machines for Dishes and Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to such cleaning machines, in which the articles to be cleaned, are arranged on a conveyer, moving between brushes.
A machine according to the present invention is essentially characterized by two adjacent brushes, without entering into each other, being placed in such relation to the conveyer, that the bristles On both brushes or only on one of them project through the conveyer.
Another feature of the present machine consists therein, that above one brush or a number of brushes, placed below the conveyer, there is placed a pressure member, which as the articles to be cleaned are passing below it acts to hold said articles pressed against the conveyer.
Further the present machine is characterized by the fact, that the articles to be cleaned after having passed the cleaning de-- vice in one direction, pass through a washing device in the opposite direction.
A machine according to the present invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Figure l is a side elevation of the machine. Fig. 2 is a cross section; Fig. 3 a plan view thereof, and Fig. 4 is a plan view of the presser member.
(1 indicates an endless conveyer, on the upper part of which the articles to be cleaned are placed. This conveyer is driven in the direction indicated by the arrow in Fig. 1. 6 indicates another endless conveyer, arranged laterally of the conveyer a in an inclined position, so that only its one end, the delivering end adjacent to the receiving end of the conveyer (1 reaches with the upper part into the same plane as the upper part of the conveyer a. Both conveyers are mounted in the same tank .0, which is filled with water, Fromthe delivering Specification of Letters Patent. 7
end of the conveyer a an inclined plane it extends down to the end of the conveyer 6, which is located near to the bottom of the tank.
According to the ernbcent shown on the drawing, the machine is provided with three brushes 6, f, g, which are rotary mounted. brush 6 is mounted above the conveyer a, while the two other brushes f, g are located on each side of the brush e below the upper part of the said conveyer in such manner, that the bristles thereof progect through the upper part of said conveyer without entering into the bristles of the upper brush c.
lhe conveyors a, and 5 consist, according to the drawing, of ropes or chains-z, provided with hooks Z, which have for their purpose to prevent a displacement of the articles to be cleaned in respect to the conveyors, in which said articles are placed. lhe driving of the brushes and. conveyors is efiectecl by means of suitable chain transmissions and toothed gearings.
The articles to be cleaned are placed on the conveyer a on the right hand end thereof (Fig. 1), and are brought, by the said conveyer to pass between the brushes, so that they are thoroughly worked by these latter, and said articles are thendelivered, at the left hand end of the conveyer, upon the incline 0?. Un incline the slings slide downward upon the left hand or lower end of the conveyer h, which is driven in opposite direction to the conveyer at, so that the articles on the conveyer h are carried back to the right hand end of the machine, and in flush with the upper part of the conveyer (5. Dining this pamage upward through the tank filled with water, the articles are completely washed.
Above the lower brushes or one of them there is arranged a pressure member m, which is pivoted to the flame of the machine with its one end, and which acts by its gravity to press upon the article passing below it, so that such article is held against the conveyer and thereby 1S properly worked; by the brm Having now particularly described the nature of our invenfion and in what manner the same is to he performed, we declare that what we claim is:
