Be it known that I, 'Enxns'r C. VVILCOX, a citizen of the United btates, residing at Meriden, NewHavcn county, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Electrical Ignition Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to an improved apparatus for electrical ignition systems, the object of the invention being to so construct such devices to make them exceedingly compact and reliable, the various parts easily accessible for clean ing, replacement or repair. I

The carrier 8 and interrupter parts are assembled as a unit and in the event it is desirable to doany work on the interrupter pfirtsthe carrier 8 maybe easily pulled out,
removed from the housing 3 and may be replacedby a new interrupter unit, or the contact elements of the interrupter may be repaired. The carrier 8 preferably fits friction tight in the housing 3. In the side of the carrier 8 1 preferably proformed of insulating material and having a chamber therein into which the upper end of the shaft 1 projects,
and in which chamber is located a distributerhead 23. The distributer head is preferably made of insulating material mounted upon, and so as to turn with, the shaft 1. This distributer head carries a-distributer brush 24 for a high tension current, and is spring pressed outwardly so as to engage the distributer terminals 25-25 arranged around the chamvide aslot 19 through which a small file her within the distributer housing 22 as shown. These terminals include suitable electrical connecting devices which respectively lead to the destinations of the hightension current.
26 is a ground terminal which is in suitable electrical connection with the brush 24. 27 is a springwasher held in place on the shaft 1 by the cotter pin 28, the function of which is to hold the cap 20 in place when the distributer housing is removed. \Vhen the distributer housing is'in place. the cap 20 will likewise beheld in place, since the distributer'housing is held'down in any suitable way, as by spring latches 29 29 which engage abutment studs 3030 on the housing 3, the latches 29 being carried-by. the distributer housing.
