To all whom, t may concern,

Be it known that l, JENs S. SviiNDsnN, a subject of the King of Norway, residing at Hammond, in the county of Lake and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Foldable Canvas Boats; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to foldable waterproof boats designed for Sportsmen, gunners, fishermen and others, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to provide a frame which can be taken apart and put together easily, said frame having a waterproof canvas cover, and the entire boat being made up to be disconnected and folded into a small package for carrying the same.

Another object of the invention is to provide a foldable canvas boat of durable construction, which can be quickly set up in position for use and which can be readily taken apart and folded for shipment or storage, and which will occupy but little space.

The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,

Referring to the drawings, the numerals 1 designate two sticks or rods extending in an inclined direction in front to form the bow of the boat or scow, said rods or sticks being connected at their upper ends to a coupling 2, while their lower ends are connected to a threeeway coupling 3. A suitable paddle b is provided with a detachable handle 0 connected to the paddle by means of a sleeve d, as shown in Fig. 7.

as indicated by the numerals 24 and 25. Pockets 26 are provided for the sticks or rods, and pockets are also provided for the seats 17 and 18. A separate pocket 27 is provided for the coupling members or connections forthe rods.

When the boat is to be taken apart, the various parts are connected to the cover 19 and folded up and made into a package, as shown in Fig. 6, said package having straps 28 connected by a handle 29 to readi y carry the same.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a boat made in accordance with this inventioncan be readily carried by a sportsman or the spirit and scope of the invention as de-k ned in the claims.
