By experiment it has been found that by connecting the piping to-the steam or vapor zone. of theradiator, much less satisfactory results are obtained. A screen 23 is arranged in the member 5 to strain the water passing into the chamber 6 from the piping 22. 'The screen 23 is preferably formed to havens portion thereof adapted to contact with theannular shoulder 24 in the chamber 6, andto have a portion thereof in contact with the screw cover 25 which is removably fitted'on the member 5 to permit access to the I chamber fi and removal or the screen 23 when desired.
