he primary object of my invention is to provide positive and reliable means, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, for expeditiously subjecting the interior of lire tubes or fines to the action or steam or' a gaseous fluid, under preferire, whereby soot, ashes and incrustations are removed from the walls of the lues.

A vertical boiler of the Wicks type is illustrated in Fig. 5 and designated'i", said Vboiler having a baille 28 and Huss 29. 1. ln a blower for boilers, a cylinder, e hollow piston reciprocal therein and lier-- ing open ends, e check valve in the outer end off-said piston and opening direct into said piston, a perforated steam ejecting member concentric with seid cylinder and connected to the outer end of said piston and adapted to be projected from the inner end of seid cylinder, means in the inner end of seid cylinder and encircling said member for cushioning the movement oisaid piston in -oedmit steam thereto whereby seid piston is ressored to normal position.
