Serial No.V 7955EA To all whom it may concern Be it known that I FRANK B. donneront f a citizen of the United States, residing in Roselle Park, Union county, New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful lmprovenientlsin Scailolding Devices, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its object to provide va hanging scallold for use in the construction oli `buildings, which shall be firmly and removably secured in place on the ifi-aine of the building beingr erected, and which shall have the necessary strength and re-- sistance to the strains of use to ailord a safe structure for supporting the Workmen and aterials. l? or this. purpose, the scaffold is provided. with tn'o;\siipei'posed platforms, the additional plat-form serving to materially sti lien, steady and strengthen the entire structure, Also, the outriggers of thesca'ffold are secured in place by removable U-shaped clamps having swinging knuckles which engage the Web of the Outrigger and thereby secure the same reliably in place on the supporting beam of the building.

The hoisting-devices 2l shown in Figs. 1 and 2 support double put-logs 22, and
clamps 23, hy which the planks 2l of the upper platform are .secured into a connected platform, all as described in detail in my rco-pending; application Serial No. 78-l,332, filed ugustl, 1813. From the put-logs 22 descend vertical supporting-members 25, preferably of bar-iron or steel, which support at their lower ends in like manner, below v the upper 'ilatform, put-logs 26, to which the plankiiugr 53T of the lower platform is clamped oy like clamps Q8.

I claim: y l. ln a scaffolding device, a. scaffold, out-- riggers above a plurality of separated points inthe lengths of said scaffold, rigid supporting members at a plurality of separated l points in the lengths of said scaffold, cables connecting said rigid supporting members to said outriggers, independent and independently operated hoisting mechanisms adapted to raise and lower-said cables, and an aliiln casev an 'iliarysupporting member intern'iediatev and connecting said rigid supl'iortii'ig members.

In a scaffolding device, a scaffold, outing members at a .plm-ality of separated p points in the lengths of said sca told, cables connecting said rigid supporting members' to said outriggers, independent and independently operated hoisting mechanisms adapted to raise and lower said cables, and a flexible auxiliary supporting member intermediate and connecting said rigid supporting members.
