DAWSON, citizen of the United States, and resident of Yalesville, in the county of Wallingford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rotary EXplosive-Engines, of which the followingl is a specification. y My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in revolving. recipro eating explosive engines. The objects,A of the invention are to provide an etlicinhsiniple and practical form of air cooled engine that is adapted-to produce a 'great-amount of power compared with its weight; to design tlie motor so as to linclude three cylinders each vof which is to be' fired twice with every rotation of the cylinder carrying wheel; and'also to have `three auxiliary cylinders through which the feed charge is introduced to the explosion cylinders under compression after the clo-` sure of the exhaust valve; to inclose and support the wheel iii a special form of rim Specification of Letters Patent.

The operation, therefore, of my improve( engine after the lnely has been turned in, is as follows: The wheel 19 is given a slight starting; turn, causing the fuel to he fed in through the central hollow' gear to the oranti chamber, from whence it is drawn up intothe respective anriliary cylinders, at, iilieir intijilie ports i, uncovered. Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. A rotary explosion engine comprising a shaft, a rotary Wheel mounted thereon and having a series of radially disposed cylinders arranged therein, an inclosed fuel chamber central ofthe Wheeland communicating with the said cylinders, crank shafts and 'gears carried by the Wheel and connected to be operated by the cylinders, a central hollow fixed gear meshing with the before mentioned gears, and ports leading from the liollow'gear to the' fuel chamber for feeding fuelinto the revolving cylinder Wheel.-

A rotary explosion engine comprising a rotary wheel having a series of radially disposed and operative cylinders arranged therein, a fuel chamber within the wheel and communicating with the cylinders, a fixed hollow gear adjoining the wheel and having ports to receive the fuel and feed it into the fuel chamber, crank shafts and gears carried by the wheel and meshing with the lined hollow gear. 3'. A rotary explosion engine comprising a shaft, a rotary wheel mounted in the shaft and having a series of radially disposed operative cylinders arranged therein, a piston iii each cylinder, crank shafts journaled in' the wheel, bifurcated links straddling the shaft and connecting the cylinderpistons and crankshafts, gears upon the crank' shafts, .and a center fixed gear meshing with "the beforementioned crank shaft gears.
