l 36 designates openings which are extended through the apexes of the side sections 14C and are arranged to receive core-pins (not shown), which form openings through the body of the pole in order to receive metallic cross-arms or pole climbing devices andthe like. rIhese openings 36 are also arranged to receive pins 37 which serve as stops for the end blocks 38, such as are shown in detail in Fig. el. Carried by each of the top sections 26 are the stops 89 which are arranged to engage with the plates 30 in order to limit the downward movements of the sections 26 when pressure is exerted thereupon by means of the levers 24.
In the practical operation, the body portions of the base section l0 are secured in alinement, as shown in Fig. l, and the body portions of the side sections 14C are then placed in position. The reinforcing, including the cross rods referred to, as placed in position in the mold and held by the sockets 31 and 33 engaging the ends of the cross rods. The mold is then filled with concrete. The body portions of the top section 26 are then placed, one at a time, and by means of the levers 24: forced in the position, as shown in F ig. 2, thus compressing the concrete in the mold and causing it to be forced into all of the parts of the mold and through the reinforcing. By reason of the removable blocks 38 and pins 37 poles of different lengths and Weights may be made in the same mold.
I claim:
l. A mold, comprising a base, a pair of sides and a top, each of which is composed of several sections extending longitudinally of the mold, means for securing the sections of the base and sides together, means carried by the sections of the top for moving them relative to the sides and base to compress concrete Within the mold, and devices arranged in pairs throughout the mold for holding a reinforce, one of each pair of said devices being movable relative to its companion device.
2. A mold, Comprising a base, a pair of sides and a top, all of which are constructed of a number of sections extending longitudinally of the mold and which sections are substantially V-shaped in cross section and combine to form a cruciform, means for detachably securing the sides to the base, means for moving the top relative to the sides to compress the concrete Within the mold, a plurality of sockets lixedly secured to said bottom, a plurality of sockets carried by the sides, and means for movably mounting said last mentioned sockets for the purposes stated.
3. A mold, comprising a base unit, a pair of side units and a top unit, each of which comprises a number of parts, means carried by each of the parts for detachably holding them in registration With the other parts, and means carried by each part of the top unit for moving them to compress concrete Within the mold.
In testimony whereof, I have signed my name to this specification, in presence of two subscribing Witnesses.
WILLIAM S. MORRIS.
