Be it known that 1, GEORGE J. DEHN, a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Floor-v Drains, of which the following is a full,\

j The present invention designs to provide means for anchoring the drain-receiver in the concrete with a suitable water-tight joint between the concrete and the bowl, and so that the basin will be iirmly embedded in the concrete and'held against upward dis- I placement in the floor. l
The invention consists in the several novelr .features hereinafter set forth and more particularly defined by claims at the conclusion hereof.

The floor-drain comprises a bowl or basin l0 suitably connected to a vertical pipe 11 containing a back water valve 12, a chamber 13 being formed between the upper `end of pipe 11 and basin 10 to contain a bodv of water. r1`he top 14 of the basin is flush with the top of 'a concrete floor 15 .and is` provided with a removable cover 16 which has perforations therein to permit the drainage to pass into chamber 13 of the basin. A
trap-bend 17 is adjustably connected to pipe 11 by a collarBO and packing 31, contains a water-seal 18, and is connected to the discharge terminal 19. The parts thus far 'described may be of usual or well known construction, and are'zdesigned to receive the drainage, form a water-seal, provide a back-water valve, and conduct the drainage 1 to the sewer. rllhis basin is detachably connected to pipe 11 by a slip and interlocking when the concrete is being laid, this ring being provided with notches 22 which are adapted to permit the ring 21 to be slipped into position above the lugs and then turned .to cause the .lugs to support the' ring.
Prongs or arms23 are formed on the ring to extend some distance from the basin, so that the anchor ring will be secured in the concrete by having portions thereof extending outwardly from the bowl, where the concrete will be tamped or packed in being.
laid. In practice, vit occurs that workmen sometimes neglect to pack or tamp concrete around the lower portion of the basin. The inner portion of ring 21 is formed with an inclined seat 24 for a packing ring 25 which usually consists of a cable or strip of asbestos or oakum. A ring 27 is adapted to be securedv'to an anchor-ring 21 bv bolts 28 and is provided withan inclined flange 29 whereby packing-ringl 25 will be pressed againstseat 24 onr ring 21, and forced inwardlv to engage the outside of basin 10. Slipping'y of the packing ring 25 between the ring members 21 and 27, so that a por-V tion of 'the packing ring projects beyond the `inner edge of said ring, provides an eXpansible joint for the anchoring means.
. Besultantly, when the bowl is set in the concrete with an imperfect joint between the concrete and the side of the bowl, packing vrirnf'25 'which is securely held between the crete floors. Furthermore, the basin serves to support the anchor, while the ioor is being laid.
It will be understood that the anchoringdevice will be slipped onto and connected to the basin before the latter is placed on pipe 11 or before said pipe is secured in trapbend 17. This construction makes it possible to employ an' integral-iioor-iiange li and when the basin is to be used in a floor where no anchoring device is desired, the anchoring device may be omitted.
The invention is not to be understood as restricted to the details set forth, since these may be modified within the scope of the appended claims, without departing fi'oin the spirit andscope of the invention.
Having thus described the invention, what l claim as nei' and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

A ioor drain-comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin, anchoring means-on the outside-of the basin adapted to be embedded in a concrete Hoor to secure the basin in the iioor packing between the anchoring means and the outside of the basin and means on the anchoring means for pressing the packing inwardly against the outside of the basin.
2. A Hoordrain comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge-pipe connected to said basin, packing around the basin, and means adapted to be held in the surrounding concrete of atloor for holding said packing.
3. A Hoor drain comprising a receiver basin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin and anchoring means around the basin adapted to be secured in a concrete fioor and comprising a pair of rings connected together and packing between said rings.
LA floor-drain comprising a receiver basin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin, anchoring-means adapted to be einbedded in a concrete-floor, and a slip and interlocking connection between the anchoring-means and the basin.
5. A Hoor-drain comprising a receiver basin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin, anchoring-means around the basin adapted to be secured in a concrete ioo'r,
and comprising a ring, and an interlocking connection between said ring and the outside of the bowl.
6. A floor-drain comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge-pipe connected to the bottom thereof, an anchoring device supported by said basin and adapted to be embedded in a concrete floor around the bowl and to secure the basin-in the floor, packing be- .tween the anchoringineans and the outside of the basin and means on the anchoringineans for pressing the packing inwardly against the outside of the basin.
7. A Hoor-drain comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin, an anchoring device around the basin adapted to beembedded in a concrete Hoor, means on the'basin for engaging said device to support it before tne noor is laid,
and packing between said anchoring-device and the outside of the basin.
8. A floor-drain comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge-pipe,connected to said basin, anA anchoring-device around the ba-sin,
means on the bowi for supporting said device before the iioor is laid, packing between said device and the outside of the bowl and a ring secured to said anchoring device foi holding the packing.
9. A floor-drain comprising a receiverbasin, a discharge pipe connected to said basin, a series of lugs on the outside of the bowl, an anchoring-device comprising a ring having notches through which the lugs may pass, prongs on the ring, a ring removably secured to the notch ring and packing between said rings.
10. A iioor drain comprising a receiver basin,'a discharge pipe connected to said basin, an anchoring device, comprising a ring having outwardly extending lugs around the basin, adapted to be secured in a concrete floor, and an interlocking connection between said ring and the outside of the bowl.
