Referring to the drawings, the invention comprises aframe which consists of an another whenever so desired. Formed in the top 27 at a suitable distance above the bot tom 26 is a plurality of pairs of discharge openings 31-31, said openings being all disposed in the same horizontal plane, and each pair of openings being respectively disposed centrally with respect to a platform 15. Exteriorly secured to the top 27 around each opening is a drinking tank 32, and-associated :withsaid tank is a closure 33 which is connected to the top 27 by hinges 34.34, whereby said closure may be readily swung upwardly. Each pair of the closures 33 is connected by a cross bar 35, and each cross baris centrally formed with an eye 36. It is to be observed in this connection that there are as many pairs of drinking tanks 32 as there are platforms. Curved pipes 37 have one end 38 projecting through the top 27 at a point above a respective eye36, and has its other end 39 projecting through the bottom 26. This water receptacle is adapted to be centrally seated within the platform in such a manner that the periphery of the bottom 26 will .be seated upon the inner ends 14 of Suitable vertical slots are formed in the flange to receive said inner ends 14 of the sections 13 and the end portions 23 of the wires A flexible connection 40 is disposed within each pipe 37, and one end thereof is connected to the eye 36 of a respective cross bar and the other end is connected to the apex of the V,-shaped portion 24 of a wire 22. It will thus be observed that as the fowl or animal places himself on the inner end of any of the plat-' forms 15, the said inner end will be depressed, and through the medium ofthe wire 22 and the flexible connection 40, the closures 33 of the drinking tanks 32 will be elevated. As soon as the fowl or animal steps from the weight 18 thereof will immediately return said platform to its normal position. At the same time the weight of the covers 33 will be suificient to return the flexible connection to its position ready for the next operation.
My invention further comprises a water reservoir designated as a whole by the reference numeral 41. This reservoir comprises a cylindrical body 42 having an open top 43, said top being adapted to be closed by a de tachable cover 44. The other or lower end of the body 42 is closed by an inverted hollow conical head 45 forming a consequent circular shoulder 46 adjacent the body 42 This head is formed at its apex with a small discharge opening 47, which is-disposed in a plane slightly above the lower edge of the pivotally connected, as at 51, to the cover for swinging movements. The reservoir 41 is adapted to be seated within the wall 28 of the Water receptacle and the shoulder 46 is adapted to engage the flange 29, and thereby support saidreservoir. i
From. the foregoing, it will be observed that water from the reservoir 41 will be discharged through-the opening47 into the receptacle 25. This water will rise until the opening .47 is sealed, the water line being sufficiently high to permit of water entering As result, the waterthe water tanks within the tanks 32 will always remain at a constant level.
What is claimed is: p
1. In an automatic drinking fountain, the combination with a supporting frame includingian annulus and a plurality of inwardly extending radial sections, of a platform supported'between an adjacent pair of sections for tilting movements, a water receptacle supported by said sections and formed with a discharge opening, a drinking tank supported exteriorly of the receptacle and communicating with the discharge opening thereof, a swinging closure for the tank, a water reservoir supported by the receptacle and having a discharge opening disposed within the receptacle and in a plane above the lower sides of the discharge openings of said receptacle, and a connec tion between. the platform and the closure for raising the latter upon movement of the former.

ing a bottom and a dome-shaped top, said top being formed with a discharge opening above the bottom, a drinking tank supported exteriorly of the, top and communicating with the discharge opening thereof, a swinging closure for the tank, a pipe disposed within the receptacle and communicating be readily rewith thebottom thereof and with the top at a point above the closure, a water reservoir supported by the receptacle and having a dischargeopening disposed within the receptacle and in a plane above the lower sides of vthe discharge openings of said receptacle, and a flexible connection disposed Within the pipe and having one end connected to combination with a supporting frame inand a plurality of ineluding an annulus wardly extending radial sections, of a platform supported between an adjacent pair of sections for tilting movements, a water receptacle supported by said sections includ ing a bottom and a dome-shaped top, said top being formed with a pair of discharge openings above the bottom, drinking tanks supported extericrly of the receptacle and respectively communicating with said discharge openings thereof, a swinging closure for each tank, a cross bar connecting said closures, a pipe disposed within the receptacle and communicating with the bottom thereof and with the top at a. point above said cross bar, a water reservoir supported by the receptacle and having a discharge opening disposed within the receptacle, said opening being formed in a plane above the lower sides of the first named discharge openings, a flexible connection disposed within the pipe and having one end connected to the cross bar and the other end to the platform for raising the former upon movement of the latter.
