Be'it known that we, BOUDEWIJI'IJB. NEU- rss'ooivi, who, is a subject of the Queen of the Nethe'rlands', and Caoin HAQ'MELIN TAY- Lo'a, 'a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of Wayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Internal -Combust1on En 'ines, and declare the following to be a 10 ful clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being'had to the accom anying drawings, which form a part 0 this specification.
Our invention relates to internal combustion engines and an object of our improvements isto provide an improved engine which may be easily and accurately made and assembled. I
We attain this object in the device illustrated in the accompanying .drawings, in which,

A A A is an integral casting of the cylinder and crank case of an internal combustion engine. p
B, is a bracket cast integral with A and extending laterally therefrom. C, is the shelf supported by and cast in- -tegral with the bracket B. There is an opening a in the crank case concentric with the position occupied by the main shaft of theengine and there is an opening I; in said casting concentric with the position occupied by the cam shaft. The bracket C has ribs C and Ccast at its upper surface and these ribs are formed in the arc of a circle 2 2 Fig. 2 whose center is at the center that shall be occupied by the shaft of the magneto. The axes of the openings a and b and the circle 2 a are parallel to each other and are so located that gear wheels H I and K Fig. 1 located respectively on the shafts of the magneto, the counter, or cam shaft and themain shaft of the engine, may gear with each other as shown in dotted lines in Fig.- 1.

I e e are bolts which pass through openings in the shelf C, their threads engaging threads in the base of the magneto E so as to secure said magneto in place. I
Of course,-instead of having a shim D the base of the magneto might be formed to fit the surface of the shelf C, or thefaced ofi' ribs C C. By this construction the casting A may be set once for all in the machine tool and surfaces concentric with the position of the main shaft and with the cam shaft finished off and the ribs C C, on the shelf C accurately turned concentric with the position occupied by the magneto shaft/ By this construction extreme accuracy is not required in positioning the magneto on its support as any variation would be in a circle concentric with the magneto shaft and the meshing of the gear H with the gear I will not be disturbed thereby.
F, is a partlyannular projection formed integral with and extending from the casing A and forming a continuation of the curved inclosing wall of the casing of the gears K and J. This projection F forms the curved Wall of a casing concentric With'the shaft of the magneto H, is a gear-wheel on the shaft G magneto.
M, is a sheet metal disk formed to close one end of the casing inclosing the gear wheel H, of which casing F forms the curved Wall.
N, is a sheet metal stamping in approximately the form of a disk lying against the edge of the projection F and inclosing the other end of the casing of which said projection forms the curved wall;
0, are bolts having cylindrical bodies and of the concentric screw threaded portions extendscrew threaded shanks extending through a hole in the disk N, its threads engaging threads in a hole in a lug f extending from the projection, and its larger cylindrical part acting'to hold the disk N in place.
P, is a casting forming the mam portion of the casing of a centrifugal circulating pump. From the casting P extend ears p pp which are provided with apertures which pass over the outer screw threaded shank of the bolts 0 and lie against the cylindrical portion of said bolts. The casting P is secured'in place and spaced from the projection F by the bolts 0 with their nuts 'v 'v 'v.
S, is a cap fitting upon the circular edge of the casting.'P to complete the'inclosing casing of the pump.
Q, is a hollow cylindrical arbor fixed at its outer end in the cap S and extending inward through the casing P S axially in line with the shaft G of the magneto E.
R, is the rotor of the pump having the ways r 'r therein.
T, is a cylindrical arbor extending from the rotor R concentric therewith through the casting P.
The rotor R has a cylindrical opening through its center which fits upon the arbor Q, 50 that the, rotor turns upon said arbor.
t, is a cylindrical plug fitting into the opening in the arbor .T. 7
it, is a pin extendingtransversely through the arbor T and the plug t holding the latter in place, its ends projecting and engag in slots 9 g in the walls of the hollow cy indrical projecting hub of the gear wheel H. The rotation of the shaft G carries with it the gear wheel H which acts upon the pin it to turn the rotor R.
m, is a washer surrounding the arbor T between the faced .off surfaces surrounding said arbor on the adjacent faces of the rotor R, and casting P.
U, is a plug fittinginto the bore of the arbor Q and adapted to slide therein. The inner end of the plug U is formed into the shape of a portion of the surface of a sphere and bears against the plug t fixed in the bore of the rotor R.
W, is a grease cup screwed into the cap S coaxially with the arbor Q, its interior-com- .municating by an aperture n with the in- P S, and Y, is the exit passage'opening at the periphery ofv the casting P.
What we claim is: I i p Y 1. In combination with an internal combustion engine, a shelf C having its upper surface formed in the arc of a circle in cross section, an auxiliary mechanism and a block B shaped to fit said surface, said auxiliary mechanism being adapted to be placed upon said block. I
2. In combination with an internal combustion engine, having a gearing, anauxiliary mechanism provided with a gear'wheel adapted to engage said gearing, a shelf having a surface formed in the arc of a circle in cross section, the center of said circle being upon the axis of said gear wheel, a block B shaped to vfit said surface, said mechanism-being secured upon said block.
3. In an internal combustionrengine, the combination of a casting A, a shelf C mounted thereon having its upper surface formed in the arc of a circle, an auxiliary mechanism having a shaft, said,mech'anism being mounted upon said shelf to engage said surface With its shaft at the c'enter of the arc in which said surface is'formed, a bracket F formed on said shelf, and'a rotary pump se-' cured on said bracket axially in line with the shaft of said auxiliary mechanism.
