WALL-TIE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT L. SA'NDERsON, oi. Niles, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in l/Vall-Ties; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The object of my invention is to provide an improved wall tie which will be simple in'construotion, which may be cheaply manut'actured, and which will insure permavnence and also strength in the bond in all directions of stress.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in perspective. Fig. 2 is aplan view showing several ties in position.
Referring to the drawings, the tie 1 is formed of a single strip of metal corrugated transversely, as at 2,'and slit throughout a portion of its length to form divergent arms 3, which latter are on the same plane as the body. The corrugations 2 are right angularly disposed to the length of the body and to each of the arms 3 so that the resist- Specification of Letters Patent.
ance to stress isbdistribut'ed in different directions, thereby securing strength in the bond.
- As shown in Fig. 2 the ties are preferably V Patented Nov. 10,1914. Applicationfi1edJanuary29,1914. Seria1No.815,255.

placed in the mortar with the divergent arms alternating with the shank or body portion. In this way the. highest efficiency is secured.
I claim as myinvention-i As an article of manufacture, awall tie formed from a singlepi'ece of metal comprising a body and two-divergent arms extending from one end or"..'ancl'in'tl1e same plane with, the body, said ,bodyhaving corrugations "extending transversely thereof and each of said dlvergent arms having cor rugation's transversely thereof, the 'corru gations of the arms being at an angle to the corrugations ofthe body.
In testimony whereof,-I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses. v p p g g ,1 ROBERT L. SANDERSON.
