It will be seen that by having the revolving hook and 'eedoperated in the vertical horn, a coat, or other garment, may be slipped over said horn in such a manner as to allow the operator to sew in close places, such as coat pockets, where it is impossible to operate the usual flat base machines.

In Fig. 5 I have shown a modification in which the re\olving hook 49 is placed 'on a vertical' plane.
