Be it known that we, Elon H. Scmrum's and JA# COB BAKER, ofthe city, county, and State of New York, have. invented a new and improved vHousehold Implement; nud we do hereby declaretbat the following isa full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which the drawing represents a side View of our improved household implement.
This-invention relates to a new instrument, which can be used for picking and breaking ice, opening all kinds-of bottles, and lifting kettles, stove-plates, 85e.
The instrumentis made of suitable metal, and consists of a main bar, A, with a hook, a., projecting from the upper end of the same. The lower end of the bar is pointed to form the icepick b. .y
Above the ice-pick is au enlargement, c, which is an ice-breaker- The upper part of the bar A vis flattened, the end being slightly concave, though-not necessarily so.
The hook a can be used for lifting all kinds of vessels or other articles., A
Together withthe flattened end (l of the bar, it can also be used for opening champagne 'bottles by breakingthe wire,and soda-water bottles by carrying forward the cork-fastening of the same.
