To all "whom it may concern:
Be it known that I Josir a citizen of Cuba, and a resident 'of Regia Habana, Cuba, have invented a new and Im# ioved Chloroformer, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to a devicefor the administration of an anesthetic, and the object thereof i's to provide a simple, light, eiiicient and` inex ensive device Whichis sanitary, as it can e easily taken apart and sterilized, which can be easily and quickly attached and reinovedfrom the patient, in
which the amount of anesthetic administered can be easilfy regulated, and 1n which the anesthetic be the atient isy spread lover a lai-ge, areal to facilitate the evaporation ofthe same.

Referring to the drawings, 7 represents the nosepiece, which is providedwith lan extension 8,.,preferably of prismatic cross section, the extension forming properly a conv tinuation ofzthe nose piece, said extension 8 being open'at its lower and uplper ends; andadiacent'the upper openiiig`t e said extension is provided with undercut grooves 9 liiito 'which is fittedl a pair ofcontactin slides l0 closing the-upper.opening. The receptacle 13 is preferably made of glass, so as to facilitate the control v'of the amount of anesthetic to be discharged.
Fitting snugly into the extension 8, through the lower opening, is a container 16 open at its upper end and at thev -side facing .the nose piece thevvall ofthe container 1s formed of a fine mesh fabric 17. The absorbent material 18 is placed in the 'container from the upper end before the same is fitted into the"extension wherein the. upper end of the container cornes-in engagement with the shoulder at the upper end ofthe o ening of the extension. The position of t e container 16 within the extension 8 is substantially-central with the receptacle 13, and when the valve 15 is open to allow the anesthetic to flow on toI the absorbent material 18 in the container 16 the same is ra idly spread over a large area of the absor ent material and thereby end of'the extension 8 or from the lolvver end o f the container, the same can.
