The unidirectional flux of coil 13 opposes the flux generated by coils 8 and 9 in one halt` of the core and assists it to an equal extent, in the other half, thus causingA no increase in the total resultr ant finzi. in this manner, the eii'ect of a large core Jfor coil i3 is secured Without additional expense.
What i claim as new and desire to secure by Lettere Patent of the United States, is zl. The combination o1 a winding, a vapor .electric device having its anodes connected to terminals of said winding and lts cathode to an intermediate point, an inductive vcoil in the cathode circuitand a core forming a closed magnetic circuit with respect to said Winding and an open magnetic circuit With respect to said coil.
2. 'l'he combination. of a closed magnetic core, coils 'Wound upon legs of said core and having a common connection, a vapor electric device having its anodes connectedI to the free terminals oit' said coils, and its cathode to the common connection and an inductive coi] in the cathode circuit surrounding said core.
3. in a system of distribution, the combination of current supply leads, a rectifyingf device having anodes connected thereto, inductance coils connected across said. leads and providing a point of intermediate potential, another inductance coil in series with the cathode and connected to said intermediate point. and a core common to. all said coils providing a closed magnetic circuit Yfor the coils "in the anode circuit and an open magnetic circuit for the cathode coil. 4i. n electrical system, comprising the combination o a core, coils Wound on separate legs of said core, a series connection for eoV said coils, e device having` conductivity, anodes of said device and terminals of seid coils, a coil Wound over the outside of seid core as a Whole and connections for seid coil to n cathode of said device and to an intel1` mediate point on said series connected coils.
