The nutmeg is inserted when the holder B lies ,on its side in'the manner shown in Fig.6 the follower 11 being pressed back by the nutmeg. The member B is then swung to the vertical position and moved inwardly'until its guide-plate 9. engages the guides 4. The operator, by taking hold of the member B, may work it back and forth in the guides 4. In this operation, the nutmeg is gated upon the roughened perforate plate'l, the gratings falling 'into the subchamber 2, from which they may be poured into a receptacle. y

The followerll may be formed of tin or sheet metal, the stem 11 being formed integrally therewith. In fact, the whole dev1ce may be formed of sheet metal or tin plate, as illustrated. The base A is shown provided at one end with a perforation 14 to'enable the device to be hung up.

The foregoing detailed description has been given for clearness of understanding only, and no unnecessary limitation should be understood therefrom, butthe appended claims should be construed as; broadly as permissiblev in view of the prior art.
