To all whom it may concern:

'Be it known that LED'MUND MORSE POND, a citizen of the United States of America,

residing at Rutland, county of Rutland, State of Vermont, have invented. certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Wardrobes, of which the following is a specification. 1

My invention relates to portable wardrobes which may be folded or rolled up into a compact bundle, for convenience in packing,both when empty and when containing clothes, and which 'may be conveniently hung from a wall hook, picture molding or curtain rod, when in use. i i

6, 6, pulled together, the bottom flap 5 turned up and buttoned and the garments are then completely protected from light and dust. The inside curtain 8 when in lowered position, extends across behind the joint or meeting line formed by the outer or front curtains and effectively seals the wardrobe against the entry of dust through this joint, as the bottom flap 5 similarly seals the bottom of the wardrobe. The contents are therefore practically placed in a closed, dust proof bag. When the garments are to be transported in bulk the whole apparatus is taken down, rolled up, and packed in a trunk, or carried in a shawl strap. This can be done without wrinkling the garments or exposing them. When a garment is to be removed, the apparatus is opened as shown in Fig. 2, the hanger strap extended as shown in Fig. 3,

a and the desired garment and its hanger removed without disturbing the others.

The advantages of my invention comprises its portability, ease of attachment to any means of support, small amount of space occupied and convenience in rolling up for transportation without removal or wrinkling of the contained garments. It is particularly useful in traveling as it can be hung from the curtain rod of a steamer berth, takes up little room, and completely protects the contained garments. It is also useful in summer hotels, and small city apartments where closets are scarce, and also in closets themselves, as it protects the contained garments from contact with the Walls of the building.
