The invention relates to ladle-holders.
It frequently happens in the foundry that molds of different heights have to be poured and while it is customary to transport the;
ladle with the metal therein from the furnace to the molds by an overhead conveyer such as a traveling crane it is necessary in view of the varying heights of the molds to adjust the height of the ladle for pouring after it has been brought to the molds.
t is one of the objects of this invention to provide a ladle holder which permits; of the raising or lowering of the ladle carried by it to facilitate'the pouring of the metal from the ladle for molds of difierent heights.
Another object of the invention is to provide a ladle holder in which the ladle may he raised or lowered and adjustably secured in different positions.
The invention further designs to provide anew and improved form of ladle holder.

The means for raising and lowering the frame A comprises an operating lever 10 keyed at one end to a shaft 11 whichis pivotally mounted in the collar 0 and a pair of arms or levers 12 which are also keyed to the shaft 11, the lever 10 and the'arms 12 connected to the shaft 11 forming a bell crank lever. The other ends of thearms 12 are pivotally and adjustably secured by a bolt 13 extending therethrough to one end of a pair of arms or levers 1d whiclrare pivotally secured at their other ends to a pin 15 which is pivotally secured in the transverse member D of the frame A. The pin 15 carriesa'n anti-friction roller 16 which is designed to operatively engage with the out side of the support I; the pin-15 being journaled inside members 17 and 18 of the frame member D and the roller 16 being secured on the pin between these sides. end and which is keyed to a pin 23 which is journaled in the sides 1! and 18 of the frame member D the pin 23 carrying a lever keyed thereto adjacent one side of the frame member D.
T he operation of the device is as follows: The ladle holder is hooked on to the overhead support or conveyor for instance the hook K may be secured to the cable of an overhead traveling crane and the ladle which is filled with molten metal is then. secured to the frame A by the hooks E which engage the handles and l of the ladle. In this condition the ladle is transported to the molds. if it be desired to vary the height of the ladle for pouring molds of different heights, the lever 10 is operated to either raise or lower the supporting frame A by means of the lift-linkage comprising the lever 10, arn s 172 and 1 1, for, it will be apparcut that when the lever 10 is moved down the arms 12 will move up and will exert an upward force on the arms 14; which being secured to the transverse member D of the frame will raise the frame, the roller 16 moving upwardly upon the support and the guide M moving upwardly within the tubular support I and when the desired position has been reached the locking dog 21 is thrown into engagement with the rack P by means of the lever in which position the handle G of the ladle H may be operated to tilt the ladle to pour the mold.
The invention thus exemplifies a portable ladle holder in which the ladle may be raised or lowered with respect thereto for pouring molds of different heights.
The invention is not to be restricted to the details herein set forth but may be *aried so as to be within the scope of the appendeo claims.
What 1 claim as my invention is:
1. A. portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, means comprising an eX- tensible sleeve for adjusting the length of.
said support, a ladle holding frame mounted on said support, and means for raising and lowering said frame on said support.

A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, supporting means comprising a telescoping member adjustably secured to said support, a ladle holding frame mounted. on said support, means for raising and lowering said frame on said support and means for securing said frame in raised or lowered position on the support.
A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, a ladle holding frame mounted on said support, a plurality of le vers pivotally mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said frame and pivotally secured to the levers on said support and means for operating said levers on the support and frame to raise or lower the frame on the support.
4. A portable ladle holder comprising a support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, means for guiding the frame, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said frame and pivotally secured to the levers on said support and means for operating the levers on the support and frame to raise or lower the frame on the support.
5. A portable ladle-holder comprising a. portable support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, means for raising or lowering said frame on said support, a rack rigidly secured to said support, a locking dog pivotally secured to said frame for engagement with the rack to lock the frame against downward movement on the support.
6. A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, a ladle holding frame mounted on said support, aguide on said frame movable within said support, a guide on said frame movable on the outside of said support, and means for raising or lowering said frame on the support.
7. A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said. support, a guide 011 said frame movable within said support, a roller guide on said frame movable on the outside of said support, and means for raising or lowering said frame on the support.
8. A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, means for guiding the frame on the support, a bell crank lever pivotally secured to the support and a lever or arm pivotally secured to said lever and said frame for raising or lowering the frame on the support.
9. A portable ladle holder comprising a support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said frame and pivotally secured to the levers on said support, means for operating the lovers on the support and frame to raise or lower the frame on the support and means for locking the frame to the support in raised or lowered position.

A portable ladle holder comprising a support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted 011 said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted. on said frame and pivotally and adjustably secured. to the levers on said support and means for operating the levers on the support and frame to raise or lower the frame on the support.

A. portable ladle holder comprising a support, a ladle holding frame mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said support, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted on said frame and pivotally secured to the levers on said support, means for operating the levers on the support and frame to raise or lower the frame on the support and a stop on the levers pivotally secured to the support for limiting the movement of the levers in one direction.
12. A portable ladle holder comprising a portable support, a ladle holding frame slidably mounted on said support, a bell-crank lever pivotally secured to the support, and a lever or arm pivotally and adjustably secured to said lever and pivotally secured to said frame for raising or lowering the frame on the support.
