While I have shown and described a preferred form of construction embodying the various features of my invention, it will be understood that I do-not limit myself thereto as various changes can be made without 40 departing from the scope of the invention;

The key 24 which secures the coupler bar is connected I to the. yoke is permitted a longitudinal movement with reference to one of these inem.- bers in order that the coupler bar may move inward 'under buing stresses, the yoke remaining stationary as. its rearward end is engaged directly with the buliing shoulders 37. As shown, this movement of the key is with reference to the yoke,the apertures inthe side plates 22, 23, being elongated for this purpose.
I claim as my invention- 1. In`a draft rigging, in combination, a
yoke having laterally projecting shoulders for engaging draft lugs, whereby longitudinal pressure on the yoke exerted by the resilient element carried therein will bring it to central position.
2. In a draft rigging, in combination, a yoke having longitudinal members with concave inner faces, a pair of springs located side by side and one seated against the inner face of each of such members, and a spacing and locking element interposed be tween the springs and having laterally pro- `iecting tongues at each side engaging the two springs. i
3. In a draft rigging, in combination, a yoke having longitudinal members each having instanding marginal edges, a pair of springs located side .by side and one seated against the. inner face of each of such menibers, and a spacing and locking element interposed between the springs and having laterally projecting tongues at each side engaging the two springs.
4. In a draft rigging, in combination, a pair of springs located side by side, and a spacing and locking element, located between the springs, formed of a plate of pliable metal slitted from each side edge to form a bent to cries ofthe springs.
