end libe minor details of construction may be contact brush having a continuous engage-A ment with said flange and forming one terminal of the main wire ot an electric circuit, a series or circuit breaking studs arranged in said cylinder and rejecting through the apertures iii-said shell whereby said studs are insulated from or out of electrical connection with said shell, branch circuit wires having one terminal connected with said .main circuit and having'their other terminals normally in electrical Contact with the shell on said cylinder and adapted to be intermittently disconnected from said shell by said studs.
3. In a switch of the character described a rotary member comprising a revolubly nicunted cylinder oi" non-condiu'ting material. a shell inclosing said cylinder', a brush lia-ving a continuons electrical contact with said shell and forming one terminal ot the main wire of an electric lamp circuit, series of circuit breaking studs carried by said cylinder and insulated from said shell, a series of binding posts, a series of branch current conducting wires having one end connected with the main wire and lamps of the. circuit and their opposite ends with said binding posts, contact levers pivoted on said binding posts and forming the terminalsol said branch wires, and springs to yieldingly hold one end of said levers normally in electrical contact with said cylinder' and in line with the studs thereon whereby the engage` nient. of the studs with said levers will inlcrnnltently break the circuits of the lamps. l. ln a switch of the character described,
a rotary member forming one terminal of an electric circuit, circuit breaking Projections carried by and insulated from said member, a series of binding posts branch current conducting wires connecte with said posts and with said electric circuit, a series of Contact levers pivoted on said bindin posts and `forming the .terminals of said ranch wires, said levers comprising bars having one end turned to present ayiat surface to said rotary member, said turned end havin its extremity beveled to form. a broaden conta lt surface, springs connected with Said levers whereby the extremities thereof are held in yielding engagement with the surtace of said rotary member, and means wherebv said rotary member is revolved to bring the circuit breaking@ projections thereon into 'successive engageI ent with the ex-A tremities of said levers ,hereby intermittently disconnecting the latter from said rotary member.
In testimony whereof I have hereuntofset my hand in presence of two subscribing witmesses.
