and a yieldab'le parting strip 'member ex tending across the face of said jamb and bowed outwardly therefrom for the purpose described, and a sash interlocked with said yieldable parting strip member.-

In a window, a frame, a yieldable parting strip member in the form of a bowed metallic p ate extending across said frame and secured adjacent one of its margins to said frame, and sashes loosely fitted to said frame I and slidably fitted to the bowed portion of said yieldable parting strip member, each of said sashes being interlocked with said yieldable parting strip member.

In a window, a frame including a jamb, a yieldable parting strip member socured to said jamb, said yieldable parting strip member being in the form of a bow having a vertical groove, and a sash movable toward and away from said jamb, said sash having a tongue extending into. said groove so to interlock the sash with the yieldahle parting strip member.

In a window, a frame including jambs and stops, sashes loosely fitted to said stops, and a yieldable parting strip member in the form of a metallic plate interposed directly between said sashes and one of said jambs, said sashes being interlocked with and closely fitted to the yieldable middle. portion of said yieldable parting strip member.

In a window, a frame including a. jamb, astop on said jamb, and a second stop adjustahly secured to said jamb, a slotted partiug strip member in the form of a sheet metal plate overlapping said stops, and means for adj ustably connecting said parting strip member directly to said jamb adacent one'of its margins, said means including screws which pass through the slots in said parting strip member.
