Be it known that I, Jona N rcoLAUs Pomxnn'r, of

I Greenfield, in the county of Highland and State of Ohio, have invented a new and improved Steam'Wheel; and

I do hereby declare that the following is a Tull, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable'others skilled in the art to make and use the saine, reference. being had to the accompanying drawing forming part ut this specification.

llhis invention relates to improvements in wheels tol -be propelled by steam, and consists in the application to a hollow shattoi a-c.'1sed wheel wit-h buckets or vaines ot"pecnl iar arrangement, and a pair of radial dischargiiig-arms, the latter arranged for obtaining the react-ing force of the steam after its 'action on the vanes of thc wheel in a direct manner, to which it isA4 admittedfrom below by discharging tire-steam ohliqnely-npon the surthceofwater in a tank surrounding the shaft above the wheel, all as hereinafter more fully specified.
