It contemplates the provision of a hopper for the brick and one for the mortar adjacent thereto. ln operation my machine is adapted to be supported upon a suitable trestle or scaiold i which may consist of any lightstructure readily assembled and demolished and upon which temporary rails 2 are secured upon which the traction wheels 3 of my machine travel. Midway between the rails 2 a cog track 4 is secured upon 'which the cog 5 mounted upon the axle 6 of the traction Whoo@I travels to propel the machine from place -o place. The axle 6 is rotated by a pulley mounted thereupon that is beltconnected as at 7 to a suitable transmission mounted upon a shaft 8 that is gear-connected to and operable by the main motor 9 that. is disposed upon the base or floor 10 of the machine. Upon the Hoor 10 are corner posts 11, four in number, additionally supported bybraces 12 that join them with the base, and the said corner posts in connection with the base form the skeletonV or real frame of my machine. To the front and rear ends of the trough 28 depending supports 37 are secured that carry a, track 38 in which the wheels 39 ot' a truck 40 travel; the forward 'end of the truck i0 terminates in a head 11 which is projected upward almost into alinement with the runways 29 that carry the brick and the head 41 is provided with a transverse shaft 42 that carries a dog l13. lt will be noticed that the dogs 32 are spaced apart a distance slightly in excess Aof the length of a brick. The bricks are loaded upon the runways 29 by the cam 94 as previously described, each succeeding brick `forcing its predecessor forward one brick-length as the cam rotates until the runways are full. At this point crank arms 144 are connected to one of the shafts 31 and to cranks l5 in their slot-ted portions /l-G which cranks are tcrininally secured to a. crank shaft 17 that retained by brackets 4S secured to a 'upport 49 that is connected to the hopper. Upon the shaft 47 is a cog 50 that is chainconncctcd to a cog 51 mounted upon a shaft E7 which shaft receives power from the motor. Bell crank levers 64 are pivoted between their extremities to the Hoor 19 and one termination of each of which is slotted and is pin-connected as at G5 to the cross-arms G1, 62. Rods G6, 67 connectthe bell crank levers 64 with a lever 68 which is used to depress the forward end of the rack 58 into mesh with a rotary cog 69 carried by a standard 70 disposed upon the traveling door 19; or the said lever when moved in the opposite direction will raisd the front end of the said rack throwing its lower serrated surface into contact with the cog G9 and reversing the movement of the said rack and its connections thus actuating the truck 40 with the said rack. l'Vhen the .mechanism is used to advance the truck 40 to the wall 71 the brick carried by the head 41 is placed in position upon the said wall i as shown in Fig. 1.

In a brick laying machine the combination with a suitable supporting trame provided with vertical racks, of a. partitioned brick and mortar hopper movably supported in said racks, a trap door terminally carried by the brick hopper section, a rotary cam disposed beneath ,said brick hopper section in engage-ment with the said trap door, a` manually operable gate for the mortar hopper sect-ion, a trough in alinement with the said gate and with the said rotary cam, terminal supports carried by said trough, a track secured bet-Ween said supports, a truck formed with an angular head disposed upon said track, a conveyer disposed within said trough between the said rotary cam and the said angular head, mechanism for actuating the said conveyer, mechanism for actuating the said truck and means secured to the said hopper for engagement with the said angular head of the truck when the latter is in its extended position for removing the contents of the said head.
