The Schedule referred to in 'these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
'To all 'whom it may concern V4Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. DOYLE, ot' Eaton, in the county of Preble and State of Ohio,
have invented a new and valuable Improvement in School-Desks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description -of the construction and operation ofthe same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part ot' this specification, and to the letters and iigures of reference marked thereon. I

It is apparent that when the-desk-board assumes the horizontal' position it is perfectly rmandsteady Each bolt s is, at the end ot' its quadrant slot,` nearest the scholar, and any pressure on this side of the desk-board onlyscrves to secure it more firmly in its position. l
Then the desk-board is thrown upright the'weight thereof is transferred inward toward the seat-back, and serve's to prevent any jar/ring or slight shock from throwing it down into the horizontal position again.
