To all whom 'it may concern Be it known that I, Tnannnus F. MAC- Evor, citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Newark, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wall-Fixtures, of which the {following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in wall fixtures and the like, such for example as soap dishes, towel holders, tumbler holders, etc., and comprises a fixture of the class described havingl improved' fastening means, whereby the detachment of the fixture 1s made practically impossible without the u se of violence, once the fixture has been put in place.

My invention consists in the novel fastening means for wall fixtures and the like, hereinafter described, and set forth 1n the appended claims.

The object of my invention is to provide' an improved and simple fastening for wall fixtures, etc., which shall make very diliicult the removal of thek fixture, once it has been put in place.

I will now proceed to describe my invention with reference to the accompanying drawings, and will then point out the novel features in claims.

Figure 1 shows a side elevation and partial 'section of one form of wall bracket embodying my invention, the sectional portion of the figure showing the fastening means employed. Fig. 2 shows a face View of the base plate of such bracket. Fig; 2 'shows a longitudinal section of the structure shown in Fig. 1. and shows the key hole adapted to receive the expanding key. Fig. 3 shows a rear view of that base plate. Fig. shows a central vertical section of another form of wall fixture provided with fastening means embodying my invention. F ig. 4"- shows a longitudinal section of a portion of the structure shown in Fig. 4, and shows the key hole adapted to receive the expanding key. To prevent the post or bracket 6 from being unscrewe'd once it has been put in place, a diagonal hole 7 (Fig. 22) is provided which hole passes through both the base plate l and the end of the post or bracket 6, and is of inwardly daring contour; and after the base plate 1 has been secured in piace, and the post G has been screwed home in .the recess 2 of said base plate, a split expanding key 8 is placedin this hole fa'. ln the construction shown in Fig. l this key has the form of a sere 'g but in the construction shown in Fig. et hereinafter described, the key, there designated by numeral 8, has the form of a split expanding pin. Either construction of key may be used, as preferred. If a screw is employed as the key, the key slot in the end of such screw is preferably shallow, so Y that, once screwed home.l it is practicably impossible to remove such screw by means of an ordinary screw driver; or. as illustrated in Fig. 9, the screw, there designated by numeral 8b, may have a. head of such form that special means is required for turning it. in the construct-ion shown in iFi'g. 9 the head of the screw is provided with two very small recesses 9 which may he Aengaged only by a special driver having projecting pins corresponding to such holes.

The' device shown in Figs. i and 5 is' simi"- lar to that shown in Figs.` land 2, didering principally in form and proportions of the parts. then becomes substantially impofssibleto remove the wall fixture, even' when secured to a tile, cement, brick or stone surface. l

It will also e obvious that thewall fixtures shown are clearly adaptedto be secured to a floor or ceiling; therefore I do not wish it vto be understood that, ,in terming my device a-wall fixture, I am limiting' my inventzion to fixtures intended to be secured to walls only. To the contrary my invention is inclusiveof fixtures designed to be secured to doors, ceilings, doors, desks, cabinets, and all other objects to which such fixtures are pplicable'. What I claim is l. A ixture such as described comprising a base provided with a screw-threaded socket and withA a screw hole at the bottom of such socket adapted to receive ascrew by which said base may be secured to a suitable object, and a supporting member having a screw threaded boss adapted to screw into said socket and thereby to cover the head of such screw, said base and supporting member provided jointly with a key-opening located partly in said base and partly in said supportin member and adapted to receive an expan ing key, and an expanding key within such key-opening, whereby disconnection of such base and supporting member is precluded.

A fixture such as described, comprising a base provided with a screw hole adapted to receive a screw whereby said base may be secured to a suitable object, and -a supporting member, said base and supporting member having the one a screw-threaded socket, and the other a correspondingly screwthreaded boss, whereby said base and support-ing member may be secured together, said supporting member arranged When so connected to the base to cover and prevent access to a screw located in the'said screw hole of said base.
