cigarettes or the like.
Among the objects of this invention is to provide a means whereby cigars may be handled in bulk in suchl )forni that the individual cigars cannot be touched or handled andhence are kept in a perfectly clean and sanitary condition.
Another object ot the invention is to pack cigars in such a manner as to make it an impossibility' for the container to loe tain: pered with in such a manner as to permit Vgoods of an inferior grade onquality from beingl dispensed therefrom.

The box illustratedcoinprises a body having any suitable number or arrangement of preferably parallel compartments 11 extending rom the front 12 to the rear 13 of the box.' The length of the bon in this respect, should preterably be substantially equal to the length ofthe cigars tobe contained in the several compartments. llt should be noted, that each ls intended to occupy its individual compartment and not come in Contact with any other cigar, and also that when one or more oi the cigars nre removed from the box, the remaining cigars will not be disturbed by such removal, nor will they be accessible except -by the means provided for such purpose.
As shown especially in Fig. 2, the iront end of the box 12 is so arranged that the cigars may he slipped into their several compartments during the ordinary lilling operation. and thereafter such end of the box is closed and sealed in a permanent manner.
