To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, IVILLIAM E. HUGHES, a citizen of the United States, resident of Clyde, county of Sandusky, and State Of hio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Burial-Gaskets, of which the following' is a specilication, the principle oi" the invention being herein explained and the best mode in which I have contemplated applying that principle, so as to distinguish it from other inventions.
My invention relates to burial caskets and especially to caskets adapted t-o be inserted into and sealed in crypts of mausoleunis, and particularly that class of mausoleums in which a circulation of air is provided for the desiccation of the contents of the casket.
A particular objectis to provide such casket with means for allowing the circulation of air therethrough.
The object is the attainment of such a purpose in a simple, eliicient and inconspicuous manner.
The said invention consists of means which are hereinafter fully described and particularly pointed out in the claims.
The annexed description set forth in detail certain means embodying my invention, the disclosed means, however, constituting' but one of various mechanical forms in which the principle of my invention may be applied.

Each of these brackets is formed with a centrally positioned longitudinally extending opening o', and each kof these openings registers precisely with an opening a4 in the side of the receptacle. The brackets are further provided with laterally disposed openings e2 in the usual manner, these being adapted to receive a bar handle D. This handle is likewise provided with a transversely extending opening precisely registering with the opening o in the bracket in the opening a* in the side of the receptacle. In this manner, a free circulation of airis permitted through the sides of the casket, as will be readily appreciated.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is rl. A burial casket comprising a receptacle, a handle therefor, said handle being provided with an opening communicating with the interior of said receptacle.
2. A burial casket comprising a receptacle; a plurality of brackets secured thereto; handles secured` to said brackets, said brackets Vand handles being provided with registering openings communicating with the interior of the receptacle.
3.' A burialV casket comprising a receptacle, a plurality ot' brackets secured thereto, and handles secured to said brackets, said brackets being provided with openings .communicating with the interior of said receptacle.
