BRACELET.

To all whom it may concern: 1
Be it known that I, EDWARD L. ANDERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Attleboro, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bracelets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in bracelets and has for its object to generally improve and sunplify the structure, and to provide units of novel form which may be made without the use of solder.
Further the invention aims to provide a bracelet construction in which the parts can be readily and easily assembled from machine formed parts or pieces, and in case of breakage easily repaired.
In the drawings: Figure l is a perspective view of the completed bracelet. Fig. 2 is a bottom perspective view of one of the parts of one of the units. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one ofthe connecting links for the units. Fig. 4 is a like view of one of the end pieces or plates of the units. Fig. 5 is a fragmentary sectional view of the completed structure in its assembled state, and Fig. 6 is a perspective view of one of the link guides.
Each unit is formed of a top 1 and a bottom 2, both of these parts bein identical in construction, and consisting .o a trough or box-shaped body, the end walls of which are extended at 3 and bent inwardly to lie between the sides of the body as depicted in Fig. 2 of the drawings. The end extensions 3 are disposed in spaced parallel relation to the bottoms of the members 1 and 2 as seen in Fig. 5 of the drawings.
The end plates or members 5 are formed with upper and lower pairs of slots or cutout portions 6, which latter are located on the sides of plates in such position that the necks 7 between the slots 6 may be received in slots 8 that are formed in the free end portions of the extensions 3. The ends of the plates 5 abut the bottoms of the members 1 and 2 as shown in Fig. 5 of the drawings, and when the parts are assembled as shown the end extremities on each side of the slots 8 of the extensions 3 are forced inwardly toward the bottoms of the members 1 and 2 to thereby securely hold the end plates in position without the use of solder. The connecting links 9 slide in the spaces between the members 1 and 2 and receive the end plates on their interiors, coiled springs 10 being placed on the interiors of the members 1 and 2. At one end the springs seat in U-shaped guides 11 which latter have their ends sliding in the spaces between the sides of the members 1 and 2 and against the bottoms of said members, the opposite ends of the springs abutting the end plates as shown in Fig. 5. The inner ends of the links receive the guides and engage the opposite sides of same whereby the inner ends of the links are prevented from moving laterally of the members 1 and 2.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A bracelet unit formed of a pair of spaced similar trough-like top and bottom members, the ends of said members being extended and turned inwardly to lie between the sides of said members in spaced relation to the respective tops and bottoms thereof, the free edges of said extensions being slotted, end plates having oppositely disposed spaced side slots that form necks, the ends of said plates engaging the respective tops and bottoms of said members and having their necks received in the slots of the end extensions, the ends of said extensions being forced inwardly to clench the end plates in position.
2. A bracelet unit consisting of a top and a bottom member each of trough-like shape, said members having their ends extended and slotted and projecting inwardly to lie between the sides of the members, and end plates having portions which engage said extensions to hold same spaced and having other portions extending through the slots of said extensions, the extremities of the extensions being bent inwardly to engage said last named portions of the end plates.
3. A bracelet unit consisting of a top and a bottom member each of trough-like sha e, said members having their ends extenc ed and projecting inwardly to lie between the sides of the members, end plates for connecting the members, and means for connecting the plates to the extensions in which one of the parts is bent into engagement with the other to secure the parts together without the use of solder.
4. A bracelet unit consisting of a top and a bottom member each of trough-like shape, said members having their ends extended and slotted and projecting inwardly to lie between the sides of the members, and end plates for connecting the members, each end plate having a T shaped extremity the shanks of which engage through the slots of said extensions and the tops of the Ts extend on the inner side faces of the extensions,
