ELECTRICAL FOOT-WARMEB.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that L'THOMAS-PLIMLEY, a citizen of the Dominion of Canada, residing at Victoria, in the Province of British Columbia, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Electrical Foot-Tamers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an electrically heated foot rest for a shoe black stand.
The invention is particularly described in the following specification, reference being made to the drawings by which it is accompanied, in which: I
Figurel is a perspective view of a shoe black stand with the invent-ion applied. Fig. 2 is a. vertical section through the foot rest as forming a part of the supporting standard, and Fig. 3 is a plan of the same with the top. or foot plateremoved.
In these drawings 2 represents the standard which usually forms aremovable attachment to the shoe shining chair or stand.
Integral with or secured to this standard 2 is a'base plate 3 conforming approximately to the sole and heel of a bootor shoe in which base plate on suitable insulationthe positive and negative terminals 5/.of an electrical service are secured, preferably on .the heel of the plate 3, as being less ex posed. Connected with these terminals 5 on the upper side of the plate 3 are. standards 6 from which to a similar standard 7 near the toeof the plate resistant coils 8 of German silver wire or other suit-able material extend, the standard 7 being secured in the plate 3 with a suitable insulating bushing 9. Removably secured by screws on the border of this plate 3 is a casing 10 inclosing the heating'coils 8 and forming the heating chamber. The upper edge of this cas- Specification of Letters Patent.

The device is a convenient provision affording a measure of comfort in severe weather to parties having their boots shined, and Willbe appreciated where severe or variable weather is experienced.
Having now particularly described my invention, I hereby declare that what I claim as new and desire to be protected in by Letters Patent, is: An electrically heated boot black stand comprising a standard, a base plate formed with said standard, a hollow body having its upper surface designed to conform to the shape of a shoe and including a stepped portion for the heel, said body adapted to fit on said base plate, and having its chamber or hollow space closed by said base plate, posts carried by and insulated from said base plate and projecting upwardly into said hollow body, heating coils strung between said posts, and current terminals connected with said coils.
