To a?? eff/tom t may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES T. E. GOULD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invente-d certain new and useful Improvements in Sewing-Machines,- of which the following, taken in connection with the'drawings, is a description.
My invention has for its objectl the production of a bobbin holder for sewing 1nachines of the class known as the rotary type, and is designed more especially to be used with a. sewing machine having a sectionalA bed plate. i
rIhe principal object of my invention is to provide a bobbn holder which maybe entirely inclosed within the casing covering the underthread mechanism; one which shall be very simple in construction and one which when closed is securely locked in position forming a casing for the bobbin which is carried upon the end ofthe revoluble shaft.
Other features o-f advantage of my invention will be hereinafter more fully explained and pointed out in the claim.

A, Fig. l illustrates the bed plate of the machine, A the head, and B the needle mechanism of a sewing machine, but which form no part of the present invention other than to illustrate the operation of the under thread mechanism, and will therefore not be further described.
B is a rotary shaft operated by lany suitable mechanism through the crank B2 attached to one end thereof. Upon the opposite end is secured and revolves therewith the looper C. Fitting inside of the curve formed by the hook-of the looper is a bobbin 4the flange a is one end of a leaf case c. Mounted upon the rotary shaft B contiguous to the looper C-is av cam or'eccentric C which operates against the under side of the feed C3 which extends through slots in the throat plate. C4. This throat plate C4 is removably secured to the bed plate A of th-e machine and is provided with a needle hole d2 which is countersunk upon the under side thereof.
