Be it known that I, BARNEY T. CORNETT, acitizen of the United States, residing at Showns, in the county of Johnson and StateV of Tennessee, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sealing-Torches, of which the following is a specilication.

This invention relates to sealing torches, the object in view being to provide a device which will greatly facilitate the melt# ing of a bar of wax, preparatory to apply ing the wax in a heated condition to the wrapper of any package, the arrangement being such that the fingers of the operator are protected and kept from coming into f contact with the hot wax.

The sealing torch contemplated in this inventionY comprises essentially an oil font or reservoir l, leading off from which is a spout or wick tube 2, in which is a'wick 3 which leads into the oil and obtains a constant supply therefrom. Extending upward from the top of the font or reservoir l is a pivot post 4f, upon which is mounted a horizontallymovable wax carrier 5, the same being provided with eyes 6, which embrace the post 4 and adapt the carrier to be swung upon said post as appivotal center.

In the preferred embodiment of thisinvention, and for the sake of economy, the carrier 5 is made ,ofsuitable length of wire, bent and twisted to form the eyes which enibrace the pivotal post, and an outwardly extending pair of spring jaws 7 oppositely deflected, as shown at 8, to embrace the bar of sealing wax indicated at 9, the arms being of such length as to carry the end of the bar of wax over the flame of the burner.

W'hat is claimed is:

1. A sealing torch, comprising an oil font, a burner, a sealing wax carrier pivotally mounted on the font to adapt the wax to be swung toward and awayA from the burner, and a drip trough arranged under the path of the wax, and supported by the burner.

2. A sealing torch comprising an oil font, a finger loop on said font, aburner, a sealing wax carrier pivotally mounted on the font to swing toward and away from the burner on a vertical axis, and a finger loop on said carrier for use conjointly with the first-named linger loop.
