Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures. l The object of my invention is to. furnish a meathook capable of ready attachment to or removal from oor-j'oists, rafters, 85o.; and

It consists in the peculiar' construction and arrange-` p ment'of the various parts of' the device, whereby this esulltis obtained,-substantiallyas hereinafter set ort i In the annexed drawing- I A A represents a circular metal plate or disk, provided upon or within its inner face with a groove, B, passf ing from side to side across its center', and, having a wedge ordovetail sha-pe vertically.

l, Fitted to or within` the groove B are the lo'wer ends of two jaws, C, which 1`rol`n` thence. extend upward in para1lel lines, and are provided upon their contiguous `faces with serrations or projecting points, c, one of said jaws', C', being rmly secured in posit-ion, while the other jaw, O, slidesgfreely within said slot.

The especial advantages possessed by this devicei consists in the ease with which it may be secured in or removed from position; in its efficiency, and in the simplicity of its construction and comparatively small cost'.
