IMPROVEMENT IN APPLE-CORERS AND QUARTERERS.

My invention relates to an improvement in devices. for eorng and quartering apples, and consists chiefly in the novel arrangement ot' the parts, whereby the vertical or hand-stamp pressure is enabled to be applied.

'lhis little device is recommended by the simplicity ot its construction and efficiency of its operation.

From the board A, on cach side of this aperture,

i rlhis sliding-bar is provided at one end with a projeeting pin, c, by means of which the apple is centered. Near the other end of the bar is a knob or handle, d.

E represents the cutter, made in the usual form, with radial blades extending outward from a central corer. This cutter is attached to the cutter-shaft by the side plates e c. p

G represents a spout or guide-way, usuallyvruade ot' sheet metal, and secured about the side plates e e by means of a collared aperture, It, aud arranged to slide up and down thereon.

H is the cutter-rod, terminating at its upper end in au expansion or knob, l, between which and the upper crossbar I) extends a coiled spring, s, embracing the rod H, and designed to keep the cutter up, except when in action.

V What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'- l The arrangement of the slide-bar E, provided with the eenteiing-piu e, the vout-ter E, side plate e, sliding core-guideV G, vertical pressure rod H, and spring s, substantially' as shown and described.
