Referring more particularly to the drawings ll indicates the hub of the wheel, to each side 0i which are secured the plates 3 forming an annular groove 2. The spokes consistof inner and outer sections, the inner sections 4 having their inner ends arranged between the plates 3 and slidably secured by means oi the bolts 5 engaging slots 5. The inner sections 4 of the spokes are tubular in form and provided with an inner closed end 6, while the outer ends of the sections t are truncated, as shown at 7, and arranged in spaced relation with the telly 8. Arranged between the spokes at the inner ends thereof are a plurality of V-shaped springs 15, the intermediate portionsof hich are arrang d ithin the groove 2 of y the hub and securely held in position by means ot the cross pins 16.; The outer ends of the springs 1. are secured to the inner ections s o th spokes by means at the me tal bands 1 a an i g provided at their endswith outwardly prejcfiting ears in which are removably arranged the bolts 18, which s urely c amp the bands o the spokes and hold the ends of the springs 15 in position.
The springs 13 mounted upon the outer sections 9 are provided with guard members 19, the outer ends of which are provided with outwardly projecting annular flanges 20 which are loosely secured by means of the screws 21 to the inner face of the telly 8. It will be readily apparent that any suitable means may be used for securing the guard members in position. The inner ends of the guard members 19 engage over the outer ends of the inner sections 1 so as to entirely inclose the springs 13 and prevent mud or other dirt from interfering wit the action of the springs.
From the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it will be apparent that I have provided a simple and durable spring wheel which is adapted for use on automobiles and like vehicles, and which will eliminate all'shock or jar from the body of the vehicle when passing over rough and uneven roads. It will be apparent that all shock will be taken up by the springs 13 and 19. so that no-jar will be conveyed to the body of the vehicle. It will also be obvious that the spokes of the wheel are so mounted that they are not only permitted a longitudinal movement but a slight circumferential, movement is permitted by means of the slots 5 and 11 in whichthe bolts 5 and 11 are adapted to work.

\Vhile I have shown -and described the preferred form of my invention, it will be obvious that various changes in the details of construction and in the proportions may be resorted to for successfully carrying my invention into practice without sacrificing any of the novel features or departing from the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is 1.
