IMPROVEMENT IN PAPERING--MACI-IINESV.

' 'lhe nature of my invention consists in lhe construction and arrangement of a machine for paperiug walls and eeilingsfas will be hereinafter fully set forth.
ln order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same,
I will now proceed to describe its construction 'and operation, referringr to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure 1 is a longitudinal vertical section, and Figure 2 isa f rontview ot' the machine.
Figure 3 is a view of the mechanism by which the red holding thc paper is kept in place.
A represents the frame of my machine.
l5 is the driving-wheel, which turns the cog-wheel (l, and this wheel turns another wheel, D.
The wheel C is pl'aced upon t-he journal of the roller ll, which runs in the paste-box G, and has crevices or iudentations in it sufficient to hold enough paste to paste the paper to make it stick to the wall.
The wheel I) is lattached to the journal of the roller Il, which iscovered with rubber or other pliable material, and presses the paper evenly o n the roller E.
The roller H has its journal bearings in slides, a (l, moving in thcframe A, and are held down by a spring, b, which may be tightened or loosened by the screw d.
The paste-box G, which is supported by suitable means in the frame A, is provided with a lid, I, fastened by the fastenings c e, as shown, and rendered tight by the use of rubber, f, or other suitable material, to keep it from leaking.

On one side of the frame A are two small wheels, 'It n, to roll against a straight-edge, to 'guide the machine, and the wheels 11 y, as shown iu fig. 1, roll against the wall, and keep the pastebox from touchl ing it.
At the rear end of the frame A is pivoted another frame, J, which carries the brush K,.said vbrush following the machine, and 4pressing the paper on the This brush is held against the paper by means of a spring, L, which is tightened or loosened at will by the screw s, so as to make the brush press heavy or light, as may be desired.

Having thus fully described my invention,
