Figs. 6 and 7 also show a lubricating arrangement, there being cast in the central standard K two oil or grease cups 7,3 communicating with a groove la in the interior of each cylinder opening. The pistons are each provided with a circumferential groove G which, in the extreme position of the piston, comes opposite the aforesaid groove k as is shown clearly in Fig. 2. The oil or grase cups 1& 7.1 will each be closed by a screw plug (see I11 Fig. which may be screwed in to force the grease into the aforesaid groove and the corresponding piston groove. In this way the piston will carry a supply of grease in its groove which will lubric: e the interior of the cylinder.

I also show in. Figs. 4 and 5 an electric contact intended to be operated by the motor itself in connection with a system of signals shown in'my previous appli-' cation for patent Ser. No. 539.536, filed Jan. 1910. The purpose of the electrical contact is to close the signal circuit when the door reaches the end of'its run and is closed as outlined in the said application. The crosshead D- carries a contact (1, Wedgeshaped at each end, adapted to enter between two springs d, al mounted on the central standard K by suitable insulating supports. Said springs s'erve as electrical contacts and are connected with the. signal system above referred to, the circuit being closed when the contact d engages the iprings. The two springs and the supports hereffor contained in a box or inclosure 2 screwed upon the top side of the support and provided with a spring-hinged cover .ich may be readily lifted for purposes of inspection. This cover is shown in place in 5 and removed in Fig. 4:.

In operation the compressed air will be admitted by the valve V to the outer end of one of the power cylinders-----sa' v cylinder A The piston in cylin d or A} will thereby be forced toward the central standard and will at the same time force inward the piston of the cushioning cylinder B which exerts its described retarding or cushioning effect. At the same time the air will he e hausted in the power cylinder 13- which is connected to the atmosphere. while the cushioning cylinder A will be taking its charge of air through the check valve f. This will give the door a horizontal sliding movement in one direction, while, by reversing valve V, it will. be similarly moved in the opposite direction by the corresponding ac tion of power cylinder 13' and its cushioning cylinder A What I claim' new and desire to se cure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a pressure motor, the combination with two parallel, opposed cylinders, of a piston in each, a. rod for each piston, a crossbred for each rod traveling on the op posite cylinder, and means for rigidly connecting said crossheads.
2. In a pressure motor, the combination with two parallel, opposed cylinders, one ottset with respect to the other, of a piston in each, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylifider, and means for connecting said crossheads.
3. Ina pressure motor, the combination with two parallel, opposed cylinders, of a piston in each, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylinder, and a connection between the two crossheads movable therewith. i
4:. In a pressure motor, the combination with two parallel, opposed cylinders open at their adjacent ends, of a piston in each, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylinder, a rod connection between and :a'ossheads. v
5. In a pressure motor, the com ination with two parallel, opposed cylinders open at their adjacent ends, of a piston in each, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each n'od traveling on the opposite. cylinder, a rod connecting the crossheads, and a con trol valve for alternately admitting pressure to the closed end of one cylinder while ex hausting the closed end of the other.
6. In-a pressure motor, the combination with two parallel and opposed cylinders, of a central support for their adjacent ends, a, piston in each cylinder, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylinder, and a connection be tween'the two crossheads passing through -the said central support.
7. In a pressure motor, the combination with two sets of parallel and opposed cylinders, each set comprising a plurality of cylinders, pistons in each cylinder, rods for each piston, a common crosshead for the piston rods of one set traveling on the cylinders of the opposite set, and means for causing said crossheads to move in unison.
S. In a pressure motor, the combination with two sets of parallel and opposed cylinders, each set containing a power cylinder and a cushioning cylinder, of pistons in each cylinder, rods for each piston, a crosshead for the rods of each set, and a connection between the two crossheads, whereby the cushioning cylinder in one set acts upon the power cylinder in the other set.
9. In a pressure motor, the combination with two sets of parallel and opposed cylinders oil'set with respect to eachother, each set containing a power cylinder and a cushioning cylinder, of pistons for each cylinder, rods for each piston, a crosshead for the piston rods of one set traveling on the cylinders of the other set, and means for rigidly connecting said crossheads.
10. Ina pressure motor, the combination with two parallel opposed cylinders of a piston in each, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylinder, and an operatin connection connected to one of said cross ieads.
11. In a pressure motor, the combination with parallel and opposed cylinders open at their adjacent ends, of pistons, a rod for each piston, a crosshead for each rod traveling on the opposite cylinder, and a control valve for alternately admitting pressure to the closed end of one cylinder while exhausting the closed end of the other cylinder, and for interconnecting the ends of said cylinders to equalize the pressure therein.
12. In a pressure motor the combination with two single-acting cylinders opposed and offset with respect to each other, of a the piston rod of one cylinder overlapping in its travel the, other cylinder, means for.
guiding each piston rod externally and parallel to the opposite cylinder and a connection between the two rods whereby both may act upon the same load.
14. A pressure motor comprising a supporting standard having upper and lower sets of openings and a central guiding opening, power and cushioning cylinders. arranged in pairs and having adjacent ends in said sets of openings, pistons and rods in the cylinders, a crosshead for each pair of cylinders and con ecting the piston rods thereof, and a rod connecting the crossheads and slidable through the guiding opening.
