Referring to Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the webs 1 ot the frank are furnished with disks 4 running' in the oil Q in the crank ease 3 in such a manner that their rotary movement foroi bljv th rows the oil in their -plane of rotation. It ivill be seen, particularly in Fig. 2, thaty the outlets 7 from the conduits 5 are placed out of the paths of the ports 9, 91", 93. il* and 10', 102, 103, 104, so as to avoid leakage. The oil on the valve carried around by it and owing to the slight free pla)Y between the valve and its easing travels thoroughly orer the bearing surface ef the valve being spread out so as to thorouglilv lubrieate it. Grooves such as 11, 11. 12, 13 and 13 are preferably provided in the valve easing and are of interrupted helical form for the purpose of preventing direct cominunieation hetween the inlet to one cylinder and the exhaust of another, during,` the rotation oiC the valve.
ln the moditication shown in Fig. L1 a passage is formed in the crank the. arms or Webs 14 of which have extensions 1:3 and the oil is forced through the passages and thrown out of the extensions, or the oil ma;v be collected by means of cups on the crank.
1n Fig. 5 the web of the crank is sloped at 1G, 16, so as to throw the oil onto the connecting` rod hearings, the oil having a tend" eney to travel to the edge 17 of the said slopes.
In Fig. ti the arrangement shown (foinprises cups 18 fixed to the web of the Crank and furnished with extensions 19 through which the oil is thrown on to the bearings.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature ot' my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, l declare that what I claim is 1.
