Description

justed with xrespect to its base in such a manner as to extend in parallel relation to the bit or drill being employed, and the sleeve 19 is adjusted upon the standard in such a manner that the drill-engaging member ivill bear upon the upper end of the drill when extended at right angles to the standard. This engagement of the free end of the drill by the member 12 absolutely prevents all movement of the drill other than the desired rotary movement, and as the drill is advanced the sleeve may be lowered upon the standard to constantly maintain the drill-engaging member in operative position.
From the foregoing description, it lwill be apparent that. I have provided a simple and eiiieient form of drill bracket, and one which because of its many adjustments is adapted for a Wide range of Work.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is A drill bracket Comprising a base plate slotted longitudinally and disposed to be adjustably mounted upon a supporting member, said base member being reduced in Width adjacentl one of its terminals and provided With a circular head disposed at right angles' to its body portion, one Jface of said head being formed with radially disposed teeth, a cylindrical standard the lower terminal of which is formed with a head, said head being provided with radial teeth disposed to engage in the throats of the teeth in the head of the base, albinding screw arranged to hold. them in contact, a clamp mounted on the standard, said clamp being ifapable ot longitudinal and rotary move ment on the standard, means for locking the clam against movement on the standard, the elitmp comprising members one of which is more extensive than the other, the more extensive member being formed with teeth, a at drill engaging bar formed with a head having teeth disposed to engage the toothed portion of the more extensive member of the clamp, said drill engaging member having a tapered terminal, 'the under face of the member being fiat and provided with stock receiving depressions.
In testimony whereof I aiix my signature in presence of tWo Witnesses.
