'IMPROVEMENT IN CARPET-DUSTER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, THOMAS FERRY, of Wilmingt-on,Dc1aware, have invented a. new and useful Device for Dusting Carpets; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the construction and operation ot' the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing forming part hereof'.
The object of my invention is to cause a carpet to more with a propel' advancing motion, while a series of beaters acts upon it, while brushes or brooms arc kept in active operation to sweep awaythe dust liberated by the beaters.

. By means of the clutch e the rollers can be stopped while the sweeper-sare in motion, so that more beating and sweeping may, if required, be given various portions of a carpet.
