NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 24, 1913..
Application filed August 31, 1912. Serial No. 718,118.
of an infant when seated within a high chair whereby the said infant can suck the milk from the bottle and acquire its contents without the assistance of an attendant.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a bottle holder of this character.
which may be mounted on the swinging rest of a high chair so that when an infant occupies the same a nursing bottle will be in propel-position for permitting the feeding of the infant of its contents without requiring the manual holding of the bottle by an attendant, the bottle being so held as to discharge its entire contents when being sucked by the infant.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a bottleholder of this character which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and etlicientin its purpose and inexpensive in manufacture.
With these and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter .fullydescribed, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawings:Figure 1 is a fragmentary perspective view of a high chair and its swinging rest showing a bottle holder constructed in accordance with the invention mounted upon the said rest and a nursing bottle held therein. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view through the holder. Fig. 3 is an end elevation of the holder detached from the rest.
,Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawings.
Referring to the drawings by numerals 5 designates generally a portion of a high chair to the back of which is swingingly connected a forwardly projecting rest 6 as usual on which is mounted the nursing bottle holder presently described. This nursing bottle holder comprises a pivot shaft 7 which is ournaled in the sides of a vertical rim portion 8 of the rest 6 and on this shaft is integrally formed a wire frame 9 the same being bent to provide front and rear supportlng yokes 10 and 11 respectively for rising a distance above the rest. 6 for supporting a bottle in a manner presently described, the front yoke 10 is formed with a downwardly bowed cross bar 12 in which is adapted to be seated the body of a nursing bottle while the rear yoke 11 is twisted at 13 to provide an eye 14 in which is adapted to engage the neck pf said bottle for the holding of the same n position whereby an infant when occupying the chair 5 may readily and conveniently suck on the mouth of the bottle and thereby acquire the contents of the same without requiring the holding of the bottle in the hand of an attendant for the feeding of the infant.
Connected with the cross bar 12 of the front yoke 10, is a wire cage 15 which is designed to receive the bottom end of the bottle so as to prevent the displacement thereof when supported upon the yokesand in this manner obviate the possibility of the neck of the bottle working out of the eye 14: formed on the rear yoke ofthe holder.
Integrally formed with the front yoke 10 is a forwardly and downwardly curved U- shaped bail 16 which is adapted to engage the front portion of the rim 8 of the rest 6 for the clamping of the holder thereto so as to prevent the swinging of the said holder while the infant is feeding from the bottle. However .it will be obvious that the holder can be tilted upwardly and rearwardly to assure the entire dispensing of the contents thereof during the feeding of the infant.
'What is claimed is': 4 A nursing bottle holder for infants high chairs comprising a supporting pivot adapted to be mounted on the rest of said chair,
awire frame supported by the pivot mem ber and bent to provide front and rear supporting yokes, the front yoke being formed with a downwardly bowed cross bar to afford a seat for the nursing bottle, the said rear yoke being twisted to provide an eye for receiving the neck of the bottle when resting in the seat, a cage frame connected with the bowed cross bar of the front yoke and receiving the bottom of the bottle, and a forwardly and downwardly curved bail connected with the front yoke for clamping engagement with a portion of the rest.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
