To alla-hom fit may concern: 1 i Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. IvEs, of New `Haven, in the county ofNew Haven and State of Lflonnectieut, have invented anew Improvement in Bung-'Bolersg and I do hereby declare the following,

The pod thus formed is secured to a head, B, the said head lbeing ttedto receive the pod, and the two joined together by rivets or otherwise, as seen in fig. 3.
The head is cast with openings d, through which to clear the pod, and with a socket, j, for the handle.
ThisA construction produces a cheap steel borer, the gimlet point aidingin the feeding of the borer, while its `form insures a perfectly round and smooth hole.
The head of cast metal is easily and cheaply formed, and may, if desirable, be made from malleable iron.
I claim as my invention- "As an improved article of manufacture, the hereindescribed bung-boxer, consisting of the conical body a, formed in thelnanner described, provided with a gimlet point, d, and combined with a cast-metal head, B, in the manner substantially as set forth.
