Description

OHAUNOEY D. WOODRUFF, OF TOLEDO, OHIO.
SUSPENDING EAVES-TROUGHS.
Speccation of Letters Patent No. 10,606, dated March 7, 1854.
To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, CHAUNCEY D. Woon- RUFF, of the city of Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Suspending and Fastening Eaves-Troughs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a fullv and exact description.
The nature of the invention consists in the Inode of suspending and fastening the eaves trough to the roof and permits the eaves trough to be elevated or depressed at pleasure at the same time holding it securely in the position it may be placed.
'Io enable others to make and use my invention I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct-my eaves trough in the usual form, with a crossbar soldered to the trough at each end of the bar and of sufficient size and strength to keep the trough in shape and sustain the weight of it as shown at letter C in the accompanying drawing. From this crossbar extends an iron rod with a screw cut on the lower end and bent to conform to the roof of the building, as is shown in the accompanying drawing and ,designated by letter A. f
Letters B, B, represent two nuts which are screwed onto the rod A, and used for elevating or lowering the trough and securing and holding itin its place. n'
Letter D represents an end view of the trough. The rod designated by letter A is flattened at the upper end and nailed to the roof of the building.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The `mode of suspending and fastening eaves troughs as herein described.
OIIAUNOEY D. WOODRUFF. W'itnesses:
S. L. COLLINS, JOHN FITCH.
