INVENTOR AEEEEE WIT 5555s WW @Utldfihiid PATENT @hhllQE.
JGSEPH G. LUNDY, OF EVERGREEN, ALABAMA.
.- BAG-EIOLDER.
Be it known that I, Josnrn G. Lonny, a citizen of the United States, residing at Evergreen, in the county of Conecnh and State of Alabama, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to an improvement in bag holders, the object of the same being to provide a simple, durable and eiiicient device adapted to be suspended above the counter or other point within convenient reach of the salesman, and'c'apable of sup porting different sizes of paper bags and permitting of the ready attachment of a fresh supply of bags whenever necessary.
With these objects in view my invention consists in certain features of construction and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described and pointed out in the claim. 1
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view'in perspective of my improvement Fig. 2-is .a view partly in side elevation and partly in section, and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the bag supporting Wheel.
Arepresen'ts a pipe or metal tube to the-' upper endof which is secured by a pin or ng ng-manner desired by a screw C which is screwed into the ceiling at any desired pointand thereby supports the tube in a. suspended position. Between the upper end of the tube and ceilingris interposed a saucer shaped disk, which may be soldered or otherwise fastened to the upper end of the tube and serves to retain the tube against lateral movement or displacement.
D is a rod the upper end of Which fits and slides within the lower end of the tube and is adjustably secured-therein by means of a set screw To the lower end of rod D a bag supporting wheel E is secured by means of a supportingwasher F and a cotter pin G, which will permit of the easy detachment of the supporting Wheel whenever necessary. The bag supporting wheel I Specification of Letters Patent. Application and September is, 1912.
Serial No. 721,050.
consists of a hub H and radial spokes- I. The outer ends of each alternate spoke is provided with an elongated recess K having narrow slots L communicating therewith; while the outer ends of the intermediate spokes are each provided with a transverse groove M. The packages of bags are threaded upon nails N which are preferably Wire nails, the heads O of two adjacent nails being inserted in the elongated recess K of one spoke while the pointed ends of two adjacent nails are supported in the transverse groove M of the next adjustable spoke. A nail having a package of bags threaded thereon can be readily secured in place on.

the supporting wheel andwhen in place is securely retained against accidental displacement. "Whenever a package of bags has been used, it is onlynecessary to remove the nail and thread another package upon it and secure it in its place on the wheel. If desired a ball of twine can be mounted on one of the nails and by turning the Wheel can be brought within easy reach of the salesman. I
It is evident that the bag supporting wheel may he made of wood, or metal or of wood and metal; that the spokes may be separated by equal or unequal distances and that other changes in the construction and arrangement. of parts might be resorted to without departing from the spirit of my invention and hence I would have it understood that I do not restrict myself to the particular construction shown and described.
Havingfully described my invention What nular series having only transve se grooves near their free ends, and an annular series of wire nails removnhly supported by the specification in the presence of two, subscribradial arms, each pair of said nails having ing Witnesses.
their heads disposed in the same recess in one of the radial arms and having their pointed ends disposed in the grooves of two \Nitnesscs:

In testimony whereof, I have signed this J. F. JoNEs
