It will be seen from the foregoing that't-hef 1 front thereof, an enlarged part at the front end of the stem of 'a diameter greater than that of the piston, a drill secured in the front end of theenlarged part and provided with a passage, stop means on the enlarged part, a one piece waterring swireled on the enlarged part and held against forward movement by the stop. means, and a split detachable collar secured to the enlarged part at the rear of-the Water ring, the enlarged part being provided with afpassage communicating with the passage in the drill, and the-Water ring being provided with a water inlet passage communicating with the passage in the enlarged part.

In combination in a fluid operated drilling machine, an operating member comprising a piston and a stem, an enlarged portion at the front end of said stem of greater diameter than the piston and provided with a shoulder and with a water passage, a chuck to the front of the enlarged portion, a one piece water ring swiveled on the enlarged portion and bearing against the shoulder, a split holding collar threaded on the enlarged portion to the rear of the Water ring, and means for clamping the collar tightly upon the enlarged portion.
In combination in a fluid operated drilling machine, an operating member comprising a piston. and astem, an enlarged portion at the front end of said stem of greater diameter than the piston and pro- \ided with a shoulder and'with a Water pas sage. a chuck to the front of theenlarged portion, a one piece Water ring swiveled on the enlarged portion and bearing against the shoulder, a split holding collar threaded on the enlarged portion to the rear of the water ring, and threaded means for clamping the ends of the collar together.
