Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALEXANDER osam, a

subject of theKing of Hungary, residing at Cleveland, Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Swimming Devices, of

one structure embodying my invention,;and

Referring now more specifically to the dc:

other material riveted to the leg piece at one end, and bein bentinto the form of a right angle as clear yshown in Fig. :2; These may be made integral withithe leg pieceif soldesired'thereby eflecting a savmgof material: and weight, as well as labor. These should extend out from, the leg: piece jone o'r :two inches, in order to support the strain of the fin or paddle 19, during 113116 backward or pushing motion of the foot.

What I claim is A. swimming device comprising a leg, piece, a blade hinged thereto, capable oft opening and jclosin with the backward and 5 forward motion 0 the leg, respectively, a

stop to prevent further motion of said blade 2 when it reaches a predetermined posit1on,; a a

toe piece and flexible metal connections from the leg piece thereto, said connections comprising hinge joints acting in two planes at substantially ri ht angles to each other, and 3 means forattac ing; said leg and toe pieces 1 to the wearer.
